Good morning, Im putting the brooder together this morning, 89 eggs are on lock down in the incubator, hope I can get some to hatch 🙂 I hear a Roo in the background. 😃

Setting 90 Coturnix Quail eggs in the incubator today. 🙂 Some Jumbos, some mix colors. Maybe the last hatch of the year, maybe not. We will check back on lock down and candeling.

Junior the rooster is Georges offspring, his hen mom is a Speckled Sussex. My Speckled Sussex hens get out of their chicken yard, and lay eggs in a nesting box by my basement door. That's how I know who the hen mom is. Strange he looks exactly like his dad. Feathered feet and all.

George The rooster, is a cross between a standard Black Cochin rooster and a White Leghorn hen. He is friendly.

These Coturnix Quail are 4 weeks old, there are 10 left. They are getting a little skittish. I am starting another batch in the incubator today. Colors and Jumbos.

The Eastern Newt, or also Red Spotted Newt, in the Red Eft stage. The second stage of 3. In 3 to 5 years he will return to the swamp. In the Red Eft Stage they have nurotoxin similar to the puffer fish. They walk around the forest without fear of being eaten. Not dangerous to touch or hold, but be sure to wash your hands after.
I have always been fascinated with salamanders and newts.
