Hi guys! We realized we never introduced ourselves when we started the page. A little background on the farm, Big Dog Beef was started by Ben in 2010 when he purchased his first Registered Pinzqauer. Since then he has grown to have almost 40 cows/ calves along with selling a bull here and there to other farms. He has also purchased some registered show Holsteins that will be used to supply milk to bull calves we purchase. I (Autumn) joined the farm early last year helping out with chores and field work. Ben and I have been dating almost 1.5 years. Last year Ben and his grandparents allowed me to keep two cross bred calves from my part time job. I also just purchased my first registered shorthorn heifer to start building my portfolio. Along side us Bens brother Quincy has a couple animals at the farm and helps out. We would not be able to do this without the help of Bens grandparents who own the farm, Bens parents Brad and Karen who help out when we’re working at our fulltime jobs, my dad Mike who helps fix things, and the rest of my family for all their support. Now for a little farm update. We’ve been so busy with a lot of projects. Besides farming we are also remodeling our home which is almost done! Earlier this week the farm I milked at sold their dairy cows. Ben purchased one and we are using the milk to feed two bull calves. We also bought our first puppy together.
