Grill Master Colten created this simple recipe & we haven't changed it since... beef + pork patties = truly the best "ham"burgers! 😅

Our beef is naturally lean which we love (thank you slow grown pasture raised beef), but we were curious what level of flavor our pastured pork would add to our burger patties. I will tell you, the whole family devours every last "ham"burger on that grill!

I have officially lost all naming rights at the farm... our daughter named our newest heifer calf, Phoebe. Mama Reba is doing AMAZING as always! After laying down Reba delivered Phoebe in minutes. Big brother Gentry is showing his gentle side but isnt shy to ask for attention. 😂

Phoebe has loved all the visitors including a 2 week old baby and her pig friends who she is rivaling with in weight!

Do you want to know our SECRET to gardening with hardly any input? Here it is. We let nature plant the seeds for us. Thats it.

This year has really outdone itself with over 40 voluntary plots.

How do we do it? Our pigs enjoy pumpkins, squash and gourds all fall for their natural dewormer (thank you cucurbitin!). Some seeds make their way into our soil. The pigs naturally spread their own manure on the soil all winter. Come Spring, I move the pigs off the winter paddock and I find the voluntary sprouts. We allow that paddock to rest (no hooves on it) and grow a beautiful crop of pumpkins, squash & gourds for the next Fall on the well nourished soil.
