Music notes drift out of the taproom windows to spark inspiration in the hearts of young and old alike. The beat of a tambourine counters the boom of a cajon box drum reverberating from our taproom, located at the historic corner of Hamburger Square of downtown Greensboro, NC. The revelry of laughter settles for a moment just long enough to hear glasses tinkling in cheers. Energized by the stories
around us, our passion is to embody our community by showcasing hidden talent — from brewers to musicians, artists to chefs — we aim to celebrate modern talents within our historic space. With a taproom and production space nestled snugly within 1750 square feet we do more with less. Little Brother is a nod to the underdog, meant to evoke an image of someone fighting for their place at the table, standing on their tippy toes to make the cut but then bringing enough swagger and heart to prove they ultimately belong. Our space is small but historic. Dating back to the early 1900’s the original black and white tiled flooring remain still bearing the scars of counter stools of Jim’s Lunch, (a famous hot dog joint of Hamburger square decades ago). Our small but mighty 4 barrel brew system proudly shines at the back of the taproom, unobscured and open for all to witness and appreciate the journey of the beer making process. From milling to mashing - carbonating to kegging, guests belly up to the bar as if the brewery were a stage and the process a performance, asking questions and learning as our brewmaster works. Infused with the smells of a fresh mash - the taproom becomes an experience of learning and discovery. Featuring a one-of-a-kind, “Resident Homebrewer Program”, we provide an opportunity for local homebrewers to join in and celebrate the beer making journey on our commercial system. Valuing the true spirit of brewing, the creativity behind the recipe and ingredients, we opened with a desire to give homebrewers a stage and studio to share their craft with the community. We call upon local artists to design the homebrewer’s artwork to be permanently displayed in our “Homebrewer Spotlight Hallway” which details the story of each homebrewer’s collaboration. Local musicians help commemorate the release of each beer, making it a truly unique and delightful experience. By signifying ourselves as a ringleader of creativity within our community, we have become a vibrant outlet that attracts new interest every day. Everything at Little Brother is built around community. Positioned at the epicenter of downtown we ebb and flow with the programming and mood of the downtown scene. From block parties with local musicians to a plethora of non-profit events we insert ourselves into the heart of the community, taking our energy from it and giving back what we can. We’re proud to feature 100% local malt as the backbone of our recipes further contributing to the local economy and honoring the hardworking farmers and maltsters that make what we do possible. With every visit to our taproom, you will have the opportunity to experience our thriving community. Whether you love beer, food, music or just a good time with friends it is our joy to be a part of that chapter. By helping others craft their own story, we craft our own. More than just a watering hole, Little Brother Brewing is a familiar gathering place where one can enjoy a beverage infused with a sense of purpose and place. Pull up a chair and “craft your own story” at Little Brother Brewing.
