It is FINALLY raining here. So working on a sewing craft instead of evening garden chores.

Upcycling some flannel fabric from into reusable rounds for facial care routines.

Snagged a few different flannel mini rolls to make some for myself and the kiddo. Excited to get these into rotation. We plan to make a lil laundry bag for them it as well from a mesh-y fabric I found laying around.

It’s garlic scape butter season!!

Made up a few pounds of scape butter to freeze for future use. Toss garlic scapes, parsley, what ever other herbs you’re feeling, salt, pepper, lemon zest and lemon juice in a food processor. Then add butter.

We freeze it in blocks and usually cook chicken with it, but it’s also amazing spread on a crunchy bread.

Flipping the last of the collards this morning. The chickens were happy to have the scraps and the bugs.

A little before work morning harvest.

Snapdragons for the kiddo’s teachers tomorrow. Some kale and Swiss chard. The first good handful of snow peas. And a lil calla lilly I left but it looks amazing.

At NC State I minored in Outdoor Leadership. Those classes were amazing and I learned so much about myself, the outdoors, and outdoor recreation. We learned a lot of knots for all the things.

I remember a totals of three of them (Tommy Holden if you see this, I’m sorry 🫣).

Thankfully the taut-line hitch is one of those three knots I know and works as well for tent tarps as it does for trellising tomatoes 😂

Using up the last of last week’s kale and Swiss chard in tonight’s dinner. Sautéed greens in an Alfredo-like sauce with chicken and “the cool squiggly shaped pasta” pieces.

We managed to free up fridge space just in time to harvest more kale and chard tomorrow morning 😂. It’s a good problem to have.

A lil garden picking after work.

This brings us up to 12 pounds of kale for the season!

Grabbed some parsley and dill to dehydrate along with the first bunch of Swiss chard.

Lastly, snipped a few snapdragons. Gosh I love these flowers so much.
