Sometimes a walk in the woods on the farm, on what appears to be a day that spring isn’t here, you see new life beginning to blossom. I found these daffodils which I’ve never seen before but it was a pleasant surprise of someone before me, and new life in the woods is around the corner. 🌼

On this cold day with just a little snow, the does get a treat. Cedar is a natural dewormer, they get this occasionally but it’s a special treat on snow days.

This is all in good fun play between these two, but slow motion is great for showing you what a predator will face should they step inside the protected area. The size of their jaws are enormous, but they do know when and how to use or not use the pressure behind them.

These 2 do a fantastic job keeping the herd safe. One is never very far behind the other one and their sense of possible threat and response to such is ideal.
People ask about their coats-it sometimes depends on the actual hair which can vary on each Pyrenees. Ours sheds late spring all through summer. They are fully shed for the season now, it won’t be long until it thickens back up for colder weather. Then we start the long shedding process again. It takes multiple, multiple brushings over a couple months to fully shed.

This is what happens during shedding season for a Great Pyrenees…..you get enough hair to make a whole nother Pyrenees 😛😛

These irises are 4 generations old….transplanted multiple times. Grateful for another season of life and colorful blooms 💜 The tree to the right hasn’t been as lucky but it’s still holding on.
