As I was driving around the dead lavender feeling very, very sad . . . I did happen upon this sweet scene. Maybe it was God's reminder that there's still life elsewhere on the farm and its all going to be alright.

So, I press on and do what I can. Harvest what I can of the lavender that seems to be surviving and just be happy its not ALL gone.

Nigella - after the beautiful blooms fall off, this incredible seed pod forms! It's perfect to add to bouquets and to use in dried floral arrangements. I've always had issues starting from seed, so this past season I bought plugs and boy oh boy they did NOT disappoint! I am SO pleased! This variety is Miss Jekyll.
