Another Friday during garlic scape season. 💕
Loads of garlic scapes were harvested and bunches.

This Saturday's ready-to-heat frozen meal is a perfect way to bring that garlic scape flavor home: penne pasta tossed with our house-made garlic scape pesto and tender handmade beef and pork meatballs.

We will be bringing non-garlic items to the Easton farmers' market too, like: many different types of seedlings, sweet potatoes, pico de gallo, guacamole, blue catfish ceviche, and of course tacos and quesadillas.

Sweet Potato Slips Are Here: Pre-Order Now!

June is here and the farm is absolutely humming. The days are long, everything is growing fast, and we have some exciting new arrivals to tell you about for this Saturday, June 6th at the Easton farmers' market. Out in the field, we are still getting beds ready and transplanting tomatoes, with next on the list being sweet potato slips and even a few peanuts to plant....

We have two varieties available this season, Hayman & Delaware Purple. Both are perfectly suited to the soils of the Eastern Shore of Maryland

Cherry tomatoes getting their first tie.

We use our own version of the Florida Weave to tie all our tomatoes. It is basically weaving baling twine in front and in back of each of our tomato plants while wrapping them around a pole that is placed between every two plants.

Delaware Purple has a distinctive purple-red skin with smooth, slightly sweet white flesh.

This Friday prep day has been filled with garlic scapes!!!

Early in the morning scapes were harvested from our heirloom garlic then bunched up into perfect little quarter pound bunches.
🥰
This evening we were in the commercial kitchen making garlic scape pesto a seasonal special that we dream about all year long.

And tomorrow at the Saturday Easton farmers' market our special is our show-stopping Pesto con Papas Quesadilla: our garlic scape pesto spread over a flour tortilla, topped with a blend of cheeses and roasted potatoes, folded in half, cut into fours, and garnished with pico de gallo. If you have never tasted our garlic scapes or our pesto, this is the perfect way to sample them for breakfast or lunch.

We will have garlic scapes available by the bunch this Saturday while they last. We cannot stress this enough: do not wait on these. The garlic scape season is one of the shortest of the year, and once they are gone, they are gone until next spring. We aim to have scapes for four weeks but with the recent heatwave and ongoing drought the scapes are all popping up a little faster than previous years.
