Deep Roots Market is a cooperatively owned, full service grocery store, serving Downtown Greensboro and the Triad region since 1976. We carry fresh produce, meat, fish & dairy products; groceries, bulk foods & snacks; chilled beer & wine; fresh breads, pastries and other locally baked goods; prepared foods to go; health, wellness & toiletry products, and more. Some of our crew went to the North Carolina Folk Festival last weekend (we highly recommend!) and our first stop in Greensboro was to see our partners Deep Roots Market! 🌱

What started as a small vegetarian buying club in a Guilford College dorm basement in the 1960s has grown into a full-service, community-owned grocery and cafe — and this year, Deep Roots Market celebrated 50 years of serving Greensboro! 🎉

From their first storefront in 1976 to their beautiful location on North Eugene Street today, they’ve stayed true to their roots: 100% cooperatively owned, democratically governed, and driven by community, not corporate profit.
