Another busy day at the farm!

B&B guests said goodbye after a full breakfast and a birthday bash started soon after. Then pawpaw diggers arrived to go claim their 3 plants!

Sheep had treats while visitors were here, but after everyone left it was time to break out the Toyota food scraps! Let's see, they had zucchini, asparagus, salad greens and apples.

Took a last-minute reservation for a couple of campers to arrive this evening. Hope they brought some extra warm sleeping bags! Tomorrow's early am temps will be in the 30s; and yesterday while I was cutting the grass it was in the 80's!

I've gathered up enough firewood to get a good fire going in the woodstove for tomorrow am then we will see what is in store for tomorrow at the Farm!

Today was the first trip to the massive Toyota battery plant in Liberty, NC to meet with Chef Daniel and his kitchen staff. They loaded up my truck with bags of vegetable scraps from their cafeteria to feed my farm animals.

Much thanks and appreciation goes out to everyone who is involved in this new, no-waste-reuse- food-scraps initiative!

Any more pawpaw diggers out there or are we done for the season?

If you are still interested in coming out to the Farm weekdays from 11-1 (by appt) to go forage for your pawpaw plant(s), we allow up to 5 per person, any size, for just $10/ea.

Pawpaw fruit may be all picked, but these plants are perfect for the picking and digging to start your own pawpaw patch, or play matchmaker for your existing pawpaw plant. It takes two to tango!

Wrapping up a busy day at the Farm, despite the iffy-looking forecast.....
Birthday party, campers, pawpaw diggers and now just waiting for the B&B guest to roll in from Raleigh....

After saying goodbye to the last visitor at the Farm, I hurried over to the farmhouse to throw together an appetizer tray and chill a bottle of white w**e before their arrival.
