It’s been a whirlwind of a week as we continued to move cattle to the ranch and get some of our equipment in, set up bunks, and do our best to start constructing our vision for Wass Cattle Company. We even had a visit/delivery from North Carolina by our good friends Rodney Hardy of HARDY FARM and Johnny Black as well Zach Moffitt Cattle Marketing and Consulting. Here are some pictures and a fun video (see comments) from the week. About halfway the girls show the same level of excitement we feel!

After finishing up a day I found SR Black Miss 2406 (20349694) checking us out. We acquired her at the Gabriel Ranch sale in March. We couldn’t be more excited about what she brings to the table as the mother of the highest $C (482) Virginia Tech Statesman bull progeny Gabriel Lawman 5583 (21363727) owned by Gabriel Ranch and Lanas Smith. Sporting a 116 $M, +108 CW and a -1.20 PAP to top it off. Just a great bull all around. Pregnancies coming from her by Satisfaction, Seminole and Avid. It’s been a busy week at the ranch. The girls region changed and so have their tubs. We are excited to start our journey with Vitalix. Many thanks to Ty at Byrd Cattle Company, LLC for your guidance and Travis Taylor from Vitalix for helping us find what we needed. The girls are happy as, well…cattle with new tubs to lick :)

My wife Diana Irwin Wass and I did a thing…

As we continue expanding our presence in the Registered Angus seedstock community we realized early on that our intentions and goals were going to outpace our space availability in short order. So, after a long and exhaustive search we are pleased to announce we have acquired a wonderful legacy ranch from the Sandness family near where we both grew up in Southeast Kansas. The new home of our Midwest operations are now at the Barnes & Nettels Ranch in McCune, KS aka “The BN Ranch”

If someone had once told me that one day we would be able to come back to where our lives began and have the opportunity to steward a piece of land a mile wide and a mile and a half deep I might not have believed them. However, here we are. Here’s to always believing ANYTHING is possible.

Diana Irwin Wass and I were recently talking things over with the ladies and they informed us they needed proper transportation in order to feel fully appreciated. We decided to give in finally and we got a new set of wheels for them. Here’s to keeping the ladies in your life happy 🙂
