Join Candace Isaacs and Lead Farm Steward Tamika Lord this Saturday, July 25, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the UCF Urban Teaching Farm for our Herbal Wellness Workshop.

Candace will share everyday herbs that may support brain fog and inflammation. Then Tamika will take you onto the farm, introduce you to the herbs growing right here in our community, and lead a hands-on demonstration where you will make your own oregano-infused oil to take home.

Your $25 ticket includes both workshops, educational materials, the oregano-infused oil activity, a Q&A with both presenters, and community fellowship.

Fresh harvest is back this Friday, July 17, from 12 PM–2 PM at the UCF Urban Teaching Farm!

This week’s harvest may include:
🌱 Okra
🍅 Tomatoes
🥬 Kale
🫛 Beans
🥔 New Potatoes
🧅 Onions

Each basket is available for a $15 donation, and every donation helps keep this farm growing.

Please note: Quantities are limited this week and baskets will be available on a first come, first served basis until everything is gone.

Your support allows us to continue teaching families how to grow food at home, provide hands on agricultural education for youth and adults, and increase access to fresh, locally grown produce right here in our community.

Fresh harvest is available this Friday, July 3, from 12 PM–2 PM at the UCF Urban Teaching Farm!

For a $15 donation, you’ll receive a basket of fresh, locally grown produce that may include mixed salad greens, lettuce, kale, summer squash, onions, and fresh herbs.

We also want to share something important with our community. The farm relies on donations to continue its work. While we’ve been fortunate to receive funding in the past, those resources are no longer available. Today, every basket purchased helps us continue teaching families how to grow their own food, provide hands-on agricultural education for youth and adults, and make fresh, healthy produce more accessible in our community.

When you donate, you’re doing more than purchasing vegetables. You’re investing in education, food security, and the future of urban agriculture in Greenville.

We also want to be transparent with our community. In the past, our farm was supported through grant funding that helped cover operating costs. That funding has not continued, but our commitment to educating families, teaching people how to grow food at home, and providing fresh produce to our community has never changed.
Your donation is more than a basket of vegetables. It helps us keep this farm growing, expand educational programs, and continue serving Greenville for years to come.

Most people drive past plants like mullein every day and have no idea what they’re looking at.

That tall stalk with the bright yellow flowers isn’t just another w**d. It’s mullein, a plant that has been valued for generations and passed down through traditional herbal practices.

At UCF Urban Teaching Farm, we believe education starts with understanding what’s growing around us. Mullein is known for thriving in tough conditions, attracting pollinators, and holding a respected place in natural wellness traditions.

🌿 Drought tolerant once established
🌿 Supports pollinators and biodiversity
🌿 Rich in history and traditional plant knowledge
The more we learn about plants, the more we realize that some of the most valuable resources have been growing right in front of us all along.
