Red Oak View Farm

Red Oak View Farm We are building a farm featuring herbs, herbal products, & soap, while raising children and homeschooling. “Homestead. Homeschool. Herbs. Home.”

We bought a house with land in 2021 and have been working slowly on turning it into a farm. As of 2022, we are also first time parents trying to juggle parenthood and figuring out how farming works for us and our family. We are planning to focus on herbs that we can grow and sell, as well as using them in herbal products and soap that we will also make and sell. As our chil(dren) get older, we wil

l also be incorporating homeschooling! Join us on our journey as we navigate farm and family growth. As of July, 2023, we are officially a LLC.

1.5 weeks after planting! Look at all that green peeking up! Pepper plants are still doing well with their shade, but it looks like some others might need some shade for a bit. Corn (on the black left ) was only planted a week ago so hopefully we will see that soon too.

Garden season is coming! We’re sitting outside working on the garden layout while kids are playing. Here’s hoping we don’t get another woodchuck deciding to take residence in the garden this year! Maybe we will even sell at the local farmers market or our (soon? To be built) farmstand if we get enough to produce.

Before and after book repair of a used textbook we bought for future use in high school. I basically used hot glue on the spine, taped some edges, and used book tape on the hinges. Do you think it looks better?

Roasting our first ever turkey together! It fit perfectly into our stainless steel roasting pan with the lid on too - no need for an oven bag! This is good news if we end up raising Jersey Giant Chickens 😊

Had to throw out some dough this morning. I had planned to attempt a sourdough cinnamon Christmas star bread. I made my dough, but then it needed to set out for 8-12 hours before baking. Well, we got busy here and after nearly 12 hours of it sitting out, I put it in the fridge to bake the next morning. That didn’t happen. Here it is 3+ days since I made the dough and as it had eggs in it, I threw it out. Sometimes, things don’t go as planned and that is okay!

I made a new batch of dough and have plans to bake tonight for a dessert. We will see how it goes this time!
