Say hello to Murva ā€˜Murellisā€™ Refosco from Friuli in Northeast Italy. This is a hidden gem you need to try. Itā€™s a native Italian grape that brings a gorgeous mix of deep, dark berry fruit, wild herbs, and a savory, rustic edge thatā€™s complex but still incredibly drinkable.

I enjoyed it with a burger a couple weeks back and I honestly havenā€™t stopped thinking about it since. It is the absolute perfect match for an easy, delicious weeknight meal. šŸ”āœØ

Ten years ago, I was diagnosed with a rare, incurable eye disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa.

Over the last decade, I have lost 90% of my sight. Navigating the challenges of gradual vision loss forced a creative redefinition of my career.

I stepped off the restaurant floor and founded Pocket Somm, my personal sommelier company and brand built to blend professional hospitality with a deep dive into non-commercial wines. My ethos is rooted in authenticity and a commitment to educating about wines that actually have a story to tell.

The creation of Pocket Somm has led to incredible opportunities, including a local retail wine program and NOW my new national wine club.
