Ready for a great sale day!

Pen Sale Tomorrow!! Please read the entire post if you are planning to attend. We have 3 scratches due to rough housing in the pens this week: Lot 15 (Natty wether), Lot 13 (Dorset wether) and Lot 23 (Dorset wether).

Viewing 9am to 11am
We are going have a silent auction for the first 3 picks. The first pick auction will end at 11 unless there is still active bidding within 1 minute. Once first pick closes, Buyer will pick their lot. After first lot has been chosen, there will be 2 minutes before we close the second pick auction. After the second pick has been chosen, there will be another 2 minutes before we close the third pick auction. Each auction will only be extended if there is a bid within 60 second of the last bid. Once auctions are completed its up to you to grab the note card with the lot number as fast as you can.

So example scenario.....
Andy bids $1 to have first pick, Sarah then bids $3 dollars to have first pick, Lorelei decides she wants first pick and bids $5 exactly at 11am. Count down begins, Sarah bids $6 within 45 seconds of Lorelei's bid, Andy bids $10 55 seconds after Sarah's bid, 60 seconds pass, auction closes. Andy goes and picks his first lot by getting the notecard with the lot number.
Once Andy picks his lot card off the line (11:04), count down for second pick begins. Sarah bids $5 at 11:04, Lorelei bids $6 59seconds later, 60seconds pass and no bids so auction closes. Lorelei goes and picks her lot by pulling the notecard with the lot number.
(Disclaimer from Sarah: it is late, it is the end of a very long week, if my time math doesn't math please dont hold it against me!!)

Tar River Ranch was well represented last week with lambs and goats being shown in the Coastal Plains Livestock Show, Johnston County Livestock Show, Eastern Carolina 4-H Livestock show and the Martin County Livestock show. We are proud of each of the youth who worked hard and did a great job raising and training livestock from our ranch.

Many people have been asking us about our lambs for the fall show season. We are currently starting to wean off one of the best sets we have ever raised. We will be offering our lambs in a pen sale on May 9th here at the ranch. We will have registered Dorset, Dorset Advantage, and Southdown appearing ewe lambs. Wether lambs will include white face, speck, Southdown and a pair of very nice natties. We will be posting pictures in the upcoming weeks and you are invited to drop by and take a look at what we will be offering.
