It’s Pro-Am time again folks! This time Nick has partnered up with Greg Sanial to brew a beer for the upcoming Pro-Am festival where their beer will be judged along with a whole host of professional brewers teamed up with homebrewers.

Nick and Greg have developed a recipe for what they are calling a “Michigan Common.” The California Common (also known as “steam beer”) is arguably the only truly American beer style, if you’ve had Anchor Steam then you’ve tasted the quintessential California Common.

The fellas have decided to go a step further and use nothing but Michigan sourced ingredients to make what they call a Michigan Common. The author of this post has had the pleasure of tasting a young sample of it and he thinks it is an incredible beer to showcase Michigan pride. It should be ready when it’s done be sure to get a taste before it disappears!
