Today, we pause to remember the innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the extraordinary courage of those who ran toward danger when others were trying to escape.

We remember the firefighters, police officers, first responders, service members, and everyday Americans who answered the call and all those who have carried the weight of that day ever since.

May we never forget their lives, their sacrifice, and the way our nation stood together.
