What a perfect weekend to get our second cutting done ✅

We teamed up with our friends at Black Mountain Farm to knock out 60 acres of hay in just 3 days! There is something special about raising babies, building farms, and balancing full-time jobs with friends who are doing the exact same thing.

Speaking of Father’s Day.. Meet our bull!

It’s officially breeding season on the farm and Father’s Day weekend is when we introduce our bull back into the cow herd in hopes that it helps him understand his assignment.

Don’t let his grumpy face fool you, he acts like a 2000lb puppy when he sees a grain bucket or a fresh bale of hay. He also loves naps in the sun and scratching his back on low hanging trees.

Last season he covered 100% of our breeding herd and produced 8 heifers (girls) and 1 bull calf. We were happy to have a 27 day calving window and birth weights averaging 82lbs.

We are very pleased with this guy and we are hoping for another successful breeding season (& maybe a few more bull calves)!
