The Washington County Fair is our most important fundraiser of the year. The funds raised in the Maple Building help make events like Maple Weekends possible.

Even two or three hours can make a tremendous difference.

If you want to be part of the 2026 NYS Fair Maple Products Competition, it’s time to enter your products! 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟓. You are responsible for either shipping your entry to the fair to arrive by August 19 or taking it personally to the fair on August 23 or 24.

The entry rules and application have been posted on the state fair website under Commercial Conventional and Organic Fruit, Vegetable, Maple Products & Honey: https://vist.ly/5d8wr. Please read the rules carefully. There have been changes this year. Most notable, syrup is asked to be in 8 oz containers. Another big change is that entry tags will not be mailed to you but will be attached to your entry when it reaches the fair.

The Scavenger Hunt Card (pictured on the right) is your guide to the hunt on Thursday, August 27th at the Washington County Fair! Each box is labeled with a building name, and the number inside the box is that building's number on the Washington County Fairgrounds. For example, the Ag Center is Building 8.

Head to each building and look for a Maple Day Symbol Card (pictured on the left). When you find it, draw the symbol shown on the card in the matching box on your Scavenger Hunt Card. In the example shown, the symbol is a moon. (Psst... that's last year's symbol—you'll have to find this year's 2026 symbol for yourself! 😉)

Once you've found and drawn 6 of the 8 symbols, bring your completed card to the Maple Building to claim your FREE maple ice cream cone! 🍦

Scavenger Hunt Cards are available at the fair entrance gates, at the Maple Building, or you can download and print one from our website before you arrive: https://hubs.la/Q04r-4Y10
