Pretty sure we will come in 2nd this year. My pumpkin came in at 560 lbs. The truck weighed 6,800 lbs without the pumpkin and with pumpkin in it, it weighed 7,420. I deducted 60 pounds for the pallet. I weighed the pallet before I started growing. The lady said another pumpkin weighed 600 lbs. To me, they looked really close. Until the fair starts weighing pumpkins onsite, who would know? Did they subtract their pallet? Maybe, maybe not. It's all good anyways! Lots of fun and glad the season is over. That horticultural doctor better watch out next year, I'm coming for him! 😂

Breeding season is underway. I'm a tad worried about Dolly as she hasn't obviously gone into heat in well over a year and she didn't kid last season. If she doesn't get pregnant this season, I'll lute her and we will try again. If that doesn't work, I will take her to the vet. Jesse James is a happy, filthy fella. He is in full rut and his coat shows it. 😂 The girls like Jesse James ok but, they aren't impressed with his lack of horns or his small stature. 😂The girls look across the pasture at the boer buck and they admire him much more than Jesse James. Babies will be due in February and March! We can't wait!

Wow, so much attention and news stories about the little goats with rabies! I absolutely hate it for the family, the affected families, and the little goats. I've never heard of anyone giving goats a rabies vaccine. I understand there is an off label vaccine that some people use (rarely) but, there is no goat vaccine. Who would have ever thought? Prayers for all involved!

I caved and made some goat's milk soap! Now it has to cure for 6 weeks.
