Extension Clark County is hosting a Robotic Milking Field Day at Boon Farms in Christie Friday, March 25. From 10:30- 1:30

Boon's are getting a lot of high component milk from the cows, and the cows look great!

Guest speaker will be Victor Cabrera from UW-Madison Animal and Dairy Sciences Department who will give a presentation on Data Management in Robotic Milking Systems. His presentation will be at 11:00

Jackie Plank from Seehafer Refrigeration will also be on hand to discuss just about anything robotic milking. She will also talk about data generated from robotic systems. Many robotic dairy producers are utilizing a great amount of data generated by the system to better manage their herds, but most say there is a lot more there to utilize than what they are actually using.

There will be a light snack provided. There is no fee for attending, but registration is required. If interested in attending, please call Clark County Extension at 715-743-5121 by Wednesday March 23.

Next week we will be celebrating 1YEAR in our new milking robot facility!! It's so crazy how fast the time has gone and how the Lely Milking Robots have exceeded our expectations.

In the past year we've answered a lot of questions about our adventure and now we invite you to join us for an Open House Saturday, October 30th. Check out the Lely Astronauts in action and our feed pusher, Juno. We will have a light lunch available after you are finished with your tour.

Recently we had the honor of hosting the Clark County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting. It was great to give a tour of our Lely milking robot facility and share a meal together with other agriculture professionals. Our little chick is out of isolation and ready to join her coop mates again. However she will be in her own section of the coop until everyone is comfortable with each other again. Chicken wire allows the other chicks to interact with her but keep her safe from any curious pecking.

Brad was raised with his 2 siblings on the farm. He joined into a partnership with his dad in 2014 and in 2020 we took over operations. I love the fact our kiddos get to grow up in the same home has their dad and grandpa! This Spring we welcomed 15 new chicks to our farm.. This little chick (not Baylee lol) has been in isolation and healing from a fight with her coop mates. Chicks can be quite the bullies!
We were worried about her for the last 2 weeks but today she felt well enough to go explore the front yard. She has earned the nickname Cyclops due to her injuries but we are hoping she continues to grow stronger. #boonfarms #heybayl #cyclopsthechick

This position is responsible for the daily feeding of our herd.
- Prepare up to 5 TMR mixes each day for our hungry gals
- Maintain feeding equipment
- Work with our team of nutritionists to monitor herd health and intake.
- Assist with planting & harvest utilizing modern equipment
- Opportunities to advance to learn and work with the robotic milking technology.

Experience preferred but willing to train a motivated employee.
Standard Hours Monday - Friday 6am - 2pm & every other weekend
*Flexible days off & NEW Bonus Holiday Pay

Part time position available in our robotic milking facility. No experience necessary but must be comfortable working with cows! Chores include:

Fetching cows Fridays evenings , saturday morning and evening, some Sundays.
Using computer to identify problems
Changing milk filter
Grooming stalls
Scraping alleys
Taking care of new born calves

Boon Farms is hiring for two open positions. Both jobs have flexible hours and flexible days off. We are a robotic milking cow dairy with 1400 acres of corn, beans and alfalfa hay. We have a strong team approach and you will be working with other experienced employees.
King of the Tools!
Equipment and Maintenance Manager. You will be in charge of a well stocked 48' x 70' machine shop.
This position is someone who is self driven and enjoys working on a variety of equipment. Opportunities include:
- Independent work schedule.
- Maintain a variety of machinery & equipment.
- Drive modern equipment for planting and harvest.
- Assist with relief feeding when needed.
- Learn about the latest robotic milking technology and perform advanced maintenance.
Must have experience repairing and working on heavy equipment.
Standard hours Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm; assist feeding every other weekend
*Flexible days off & NEW Bonus Holiday Pay
