Meet the newest members of the Dehner Homestead family—our sweet Nigerian dwarf goat girlies, Ginny & Patty 🤍🐐
Ironically, Ginny already had her name when we decided her forever home would be with us. Those who know our family know that Ginny is also Keegan’s grandma’s name, & it instantly felt meant to be. So when it came time to name our second little goat, we just knew Patricia “Patty” had to be her name, after my grandma.
To honor the incredible women behind their names, each goat has a special photo of the grandma she was named after hanging in the barn with them. It’s a small way to keep their love and legacy close here on the homestead. 🤍
And for those who know Keegan, you know one of his favorite hobbies is making goat milk soap. Up until now, he’s always bought goat milk from local farms, but we’re excited to dream about one day making soap using milk from our own little homestead girls.
The kids are absolutely over the moon about their new friends. From carrying snacks to sitting in the pen just to watch them play, these two little goats have already become part of our family. 🐐🤍
We can’t wait to share this journey with you all—muddy boots, baby goat snuggles, soap making, & all 🫧
