Happy to share with all of you that farm stands are now protected by law. This bill allows farm stands to be erected on a farm regardless of zoning restrictions and does not require a commercial designation. This is HUGE for small farms like us! Please share the good news!

BIG NEWS: This week, Governor McMaster signed the "Roadside Market Bill" into law — making it easier for farmers in South Carolina to sell produce, plants, and goods straight from their farms without getting buried in costly regulations and red tape.

This is a big win for the folks who work the land and feed our communities, and that's why I was a co-sponsor of this bill.

Roadside markets aren’t a trend — they’re part of our way of life. They help family farms stay in business, keep agriculture strong, and connect people to fresh local products grown right here at home.

I was proud to support this effort and thankful for everyone who worked together to get it done.

South Carolina farmers don’t ask for much — just a fair shot to work hard, provide for their families, and pass their farms down to the next generation. This bill helps do exactly that.
