🔹Tomorrow is Sale Day🔹

All the bulls and females have arrived at Sidney Livestock. Bulls are getting cleaned off and shined up. Big thank you to Amber Ledahl, Cutler Ledahl, and Tyler Smith for helping us haul down the females and Mary Hattel and AJ Moran for cleaning off the bulls!

We have an updated supplement sheet. One of the days we measured the bulls scrotal for the catalog was a particular cold one and the measurements reflect that. We remeasured yesterday and have their updated scrotal measurement listed! A supplement sheet will be posted sale day with their pen number.

✨Feature of the Day✨

Lot 77 - M7M Miss Dolly 603D

In the catalog she’s lot 77. In ASA she’s M7M Miss Dolly 603D. On her double yellow tags it says D603. But on the ranch she’s “Sweet Pea.”
Bought as an open heifer to show in 4-H where she placed first in her class and again showed as a pair the following year. That calf would go on to be the second highest selling bull in the sale that year. If you had a pail of oats in hand this cow would follow you just about anywhere. After you give her a few shoulders scratches she’ll be following you around the pen for more. By far the most docile cow that has ever stepped foot on the ranch. Every year besides this year she has calved on the first cycle. She’s had 3 bulls and 2 heifers sold in the sale. Two daughters and two granddaughters retained in the herd. She is the granddam of Lot 5 and the great granddam of Lot 1. She’s extremely deep and has great maternal instincts. She really models our motto “docility, longevity, and fertility”

She will truly leave a legacy behind and there will be no other cow like Sweet Pea. She will forever have a special place in my heart. I’ve had other show heifers kept through the years, in fact I just sold a show heifer that was 13 years old this past October. But none of them holds a candle to Sweet Pea. If you end up being the lucky one taking her home, be sure to give her some extra scratches and oats for me please!

Lot 25 - Sorenson Turnpike N16

These Ellingson Turnpike K252 sons sure are something and lot 25 is no different! His REA EPD of 1.09 is in the top 5% and top 15% for YG of -0.32. He’s muscle and mass in a moderate package. He will have steer calves that push down the scale and heifer calves that will have a long line of fertility and longevity.
