Calling all self-proclaimed chefs in our community! For this year’s Mid Summer Soirée, we are inviting you to make a dish onsite using our farm-fresh produce, and compete for the title of Thimbleberry’s Top Chef 2026! All chefs will receive a stipend to spend on other ingredients, free entry to the event (including food and drinks), and the chance to win the Top Chef award! The Top Chef will also receive free tickets to our Harvest Celebration and Winter Celebration, special produce deliveries, and of course bragging rights.

Who should sign up? Anyone who feels confident cooking for up to 75 people in an outdoor kitchen set up (think camp stoves or a griddle top, under a canopy, with access to water/ a handwashing station, coolers/ warmers, etc.). You can also sign up as a duo but we’ll cap it at two people per team. We also ask that you only sign up if you are available the week of the event to source your non-farm ingredients and coordinate with our team. Oh and we’ll want to make sure all participating chefs have a food handlers card before the event!

Interested? Sign up using the link in our bio! Email [email protected] if you have any questions.

Don’t want to cook but want to attend the event and vote on your favorite dish? Great! We will start selling tickets by early June so check back soon!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Earth Day Volunteer Day on Saturday! We missed a lot of photo ops of people moving tons of compost, weeding in the flower bed, and putting up hawk-repelling strings on our bird coop, but we captured a few of folks making the stepping stones with foundation/ donor names on them, lunchtime, and the kids (big and little!) doing the gnome scavenger hunt at the end of the day! It was a beautiful day, a great crew, and a wonderful way to celebrate Earth Week. Thanks, everyone!

We are excited to introduce our 2026 Education Intern, Meghan!

Meghan grew up in the Pacific Northwest, where her family’s love of gardening first took root. She spent 12 years teaching elementary physical education, developing a passion for helping youth learn through movement, play, and hands-on experiences. This led her to embrace the power of outdoor learning and create vibrant garden classrooms where children can explore, learn, and connect with the world around them.
At Thimbleberry, Meghan is excited to continue learning and growing alongside the farm community while helping connect youth and families with the garden and expand access to fresh, nourishing food.
When not in the garden, she enjoys spending time with her son, Jaxon, and their pup, Ruthie. She loves climbing, cooking, practicing yoga with friends, and chasing outdoor adventures whenever she can.

🌈 We had a couple of lovely Taste the Rainbow field trips at the farm this week with local elementary school kiddos! This group was particularly brave on Wednesday, arriving during a hail storm and waiting out the rain until the sun finally broke through ☀️. During Taste the Rainbow field trips, students tour the farm, finding flowers, leaves and other treasures of various colors; plant seeds that will grow into colorful flowers (this time, sunflowers around our chicken coop); harvest and chop veggies and fruits of various colors, including farm-fresh kale, for the meal of the day (veggie, bean and rice bowls with a cabbage apple slaw and a yummy sauce); and make seed bombs to take home and plant to spread color through their own yards and neighborhoods!
