*New date!* Come celebrate the start of berry season by making your very own berry bowls for gathering, washing, and eating. Led by ceramic artist Bryan Quintanilla of Bryan Quintanilla at Heirloom Ceramic Studio. You’ll hand build your own berry bowls - no experience required! Participants will spend the workshop making and decorating their own berry bowls. Participants then will choose a glaze at the end of the workshop and receive fully fired bowls.

All materials and tools provided. All proceeds go to support Thimbleberry’s food access and education programs. Check the link in our bio to register!

🍉 Did you know we added a whole new field to our row crop area this year? We’re growing pumpkins and melons! We’re excited to be able to bring more fruit this season to our weekly farm stand at Wallace , and to increase our overall yield. In the past couple of years we’ve increased our total lbs of produce distributed to folks experiencing food insecurity from 10,000 to 12,000 and this year we’re aiming to beat that record! We’re also looking forward to having a proper pumpkin patch for kiddos and their families come fall 🎃

📣 Tickets are live for our Mid Summer Soirée! This year we are rolling out something special for this annual event: our first-ever cook off for the title of Thimbleberry Top Chef! Chefs have already been selected and they are FANTASTIC! Intros coming soon🧑‍🍳

Imagine yourself strolling around the farm at golden hour, tasting delicious dishes prepared by our talented community chefs, sipping on local wine (or nonalcoholic bevs), listening to live music, and doing some nature-based arts and crafts. You stop by the chickens and ducks before heading to the raffle table, where you find fun and unique things to bid on. And what’s even better? We’re dropping the price wayyy down this year and making the event family friendly so everyone can enjoy it.

We have heard your feedback and we are taking action! After seeing school buses struggle to find our farm entrance and sometimes get stuck in the mud, we are determined to improve our driveway and parking area. The new driveway will create a safer flow of traffic, and will include a school bus sized parking space, a fire truck turnaround, and a paved ADA accessible parking space. We will also be installing a permanent sign to make it easier to spot the farm from the road.

Join our campaign to make the road to farm education safer for all! The 600+ students who visit our farm each year (and their bus drivers) will appreciate it!

Check out our early summer event series, happening all around the Portland metro area! First up is the free birdwatching event at Whitaker Ponds this Sunday, June 7. Then on June 25, join us at to try Thimbleberry’s snap peas featured on a pie (this item will be available on the menu for about a month, late June to late July, but we are having a kick-off night on the 25th and hope you’ll join us!). On June 28th, our ambassador board member Bryan from will be teaching a berry bowl making workshop at . Notice the date change!! We pushed it back by two weeks. And on July 13 we are planning to build a cob oven at the farm and will have a few volunteer spots available for those who want to help and learn how to work with cob! More details coming soon 🎉.

Come catch the end of spring migration with nature artist, amateur bird watcher, native-plant enthusiast, and Thimbleberry Ambassador Board member Bryan Quintanilla at Whitaker Ponds (https://ebird.org/hotspot/L1413967) in the first of a series of late spring/ early summer Thimbleberry events that will take place all around the Portland metro area.

This event is FREE! Learn about the incredible natural ecosystem right in your own backyard that regenerative farms like ours aim to protect through responsible land and water management.

Whitaker Ponds is known for its incredible transformation from junkyard to a thriving and diverse wetlands. Unique birds you may find include black phoebes, blue-winged teals, wood ducks, great egrets, great blue herons and more!

Bring your own binoculars though we’ll have a few extra for sharing. Sign up using the link in our bio!
