A little background on our farm. It's around 80 acres and was bought by John Simmons, Matt Simmons father, parents, Curtis and Margaret Simmons. I'm unsure the year. And John and his wife, Sherry, Simmons built a second home on the farmstead and raised Mark, Kate, and later came Matt. Why this farm is called Toby Creek, is because when Matt was little, for some reason he called his grandmother Margaret, Toby and it stuck. There is also a fresh spring/creek running along the back of the property. And that's why it's called Toby Creek, to honor Margaret and Curtis for setting their roots here, and the generations that have followed. In 2020, Matt and I (Morgan), embarked on a HUGE change and upgrading of the farm we want to keep alive. It was sad to see stuff and buildings go, but we wanted to expand and make it even bigger and better and have more building space to expand on our operations. The old barn was sadly torn down and we built new. Matt wanted to be unique and built an L shaped barn, mostly to utilize what space we had and maximize pen space for the animals. In the same year I (Morgan) built a horse barn with my father at the same time as our goat barn. It's still a work in progress, but we're happy with how hard we have worked and how far we have come 🧡
These are some random pics from our progress
