🍂 Sweater weather has officially arrived… and so has comfort food season! 🧡

There’s just something about a crisp fall day at Vala’s that makes a steaming bowl of chili, creamy mac & cheese, or a mountain of mashed potatoes taste even better. Maybe it’s the cool autumn air, maybe it’s the cozy nostalgia… or maybe everything just tastes better at the pumpkin patch. 🎃

We’re counting down our TOP 10 COZY FOODS at Vala’s! And a few of these come with stories as warm as the food itself.

🥣 A little Vala’s history: Chili was one of the very first foods we ever served at Vala’s! Decades later, it’s still a fall favorite. And because we’re Nebraskans, we know there’s only one thing that makes a bowl of chili even better… a big, gooey cinnamon roll! Find this classic Nebraska comfort food combo at Grandma’s Kitchen.

🤫 Psst… here’s a staff favorite you might not know about! Ask for CHILI-MAC at Grandma’s Kitchen or The Pie Barn! We’ll mix our hearty chili right into our creamy mac & cheese for the ultimate cozy comfort food. It’s a little off-menu magic!

🍟 And for something sweet? Our Dessert Poutine is one of the newer treats on the farm: warm funnel cake fries drizzled with caramel and cheesecake filling. Made for sharing… although we won’t judge if you keep every last bite. 😉

🔥🍂 Two campfire styles. One favorite family tradition.

Some of the Vala family's favorite fall memories go all the way back to Grandma Lois' farm, where gathering around a campfire to roast hot dogs and make s'mores was an annual tradition. Nothing fancy. Just family, a warm fire, good food and lots of laughter. ❤️

Now the next generation is carrying on that tradition with their own kids, right here at Vala's!

But Kyla and Kirsten have two differenet campfire styles, and we love how they show there's more than one way to make a campfire evening special!

🔥 Kyla's style: Once a week during the season, Kyla hosts a weekday campfire for family and friends. She goes all out with delicious hot dinners, Vala's Campfire Catering, extra dishes from home, tablecloths on the tables and blankets on the benches. It's a cozy fall dinner party around the fire that everyone looks forward to all week!

🌭 The keep-it-simple style: Kirsten makes sure to gather her kids and cousins for at least one classic campfire every fall. Their secret? Vala's Hot Dog & S'more Box! It comes with everything you need—raw hot dogs, buns, condiments, s'mores fixings, drinks, plates, napkins and even roasting sticks. No shopping, packing or prepping. Just show up and enjoy!

Two different styles. Equally wonderful memories. 🧡

That's what we love about campfires at Vala's. You can make them as simple or as elaborate as you like. And with our Campfire Catering, we make the food so you can make the memories!

Our Cherry Apple C***r is a fall favorite worth stocking up on before the season ends. We blend our fresh-pressed apple c***r with tart Montmorency and Balaton cherry juice for a bright, fruity sip that’s 100% juice with no added sugar.

It’s great served cold, but here’s a little secret: heat it up with mulled spices and cinnamon for a warm, cozy beverage.

Grab a half gallon and a six pack (or twelve pack) of our apple c***r donuts on your way out, and you’ve got the perfect breakfast for the morning after your pumpkin patch visit.

🥧 Pumpkin or Pecan? Why choose when you can have BOTH?! 🍂

This week’s Pie Barn special is a little bit of pumpkin patch history, and a whole lot of deliciousness! Reintroducing Pumpkin Pecan Pie!

When we first opened the Pie Barn 12 years ago, we wanted to create several different pumpkin pies for our menu. After trying a million variations, this one stole our hearts (and our taste buds!). In fact, it was one of the ORIGINAL pies on our Pie Barn menu! 🧡

Turns out, pumpkin and pecan aren’t just good on their own... they’re even BETTER together! The best of both fall favorites, baked into one beautiful pie.

And what better time to bring back an old favorite than right in the heart of pumpkin season?! 🎃
