Willow Valley Farms San Clemente Island Goats

Willow Valley Farms San Clemente Island Goats Official page for Willow Valley Farms San Clemente Island Goats. San Clemente Island Goats are the world's rarest breed of feral goat in the world.

Today there are less than 450 of these beautiful goats left. The story goes that
goats were dropped off on Santa Catalina Island many centuries ago. Then in the
late 1800s a humble island dweller took a group of goats to San Clemente Island. By 1985, there were an estimate 16,000 goats on the island. By the early 90s,
they were nearly wiped out by the Navy who declared them public enemy number

one for the local flora. Never mind the goats were on the island for almost as long
as the navy existed! Today there is a movement underfoot to keep these beautiful animals from going
extinct. It is our hope that if you are reading this page you will get the word out!
