Did you know chestnuts are a fall crop in California? It is a short season for fresh and locally grown chestnuts, running only until the end of October. If you are buying supermarket chestnuts in November or December, they ARE imported - mostly from Italy or China.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Flavio’s passing on January 27, 2021 from pancreatic cancer. Flav was an integral and cherished part of our farm and family. He had a passion for the chestnut trees and worked hard to keep them happy and productive. Everything he did was meticulous and the beauty of the farm is proof of his dedication to it. We miss him and mourn him.

At Harrison’s California Chestnuts we pride ourselves on delivering fresh Chestnuts from our farm to your home. Our ability to do this is dependent on the timeliness of the US Postal Service, and availability of farm labor which is very limited due to COVID-19. Based on current USPS delivery delays and resource constraints, it is with great regret and sorrow that we are unable to offer online sales for the 2020 Harvest.

We are grateful to all our customers that have purchased from us year after year. We hope to have you back for our 2021 Chestnut Harvest.
