Living in the Presence of God

This question has been on my mind so much lately. Do we really know what it actually means to have a true relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ? I am reading a book titled, Becoming Like Jesus. the author talks about this in Chapter 7. Now, most people are going to be so quick to say, YES ! I know what this means and I have it. When I look at the lives of the men in bible and how God moved in their lives and used them, then I compare what we think it looks like, I see a huge disconnect. I know there are alot of things different in our world now than there was over 2000 years ago, but when it comes to dwelling in his presence and having a true relationship with Him, that should not look any different that what we see in the bible.

Question:

Do I seek God primarily for what I need Him to do, or because I genuinely desire to know Him?

Thought:

If an encounter with God makes us emotional but does not make us obedient, it has not completed its work.

Ya'll have a wonderful Thursday

Ken

Are you living between what was and what you have been praying for?
The in-between place is not wasted space—it is often God’s workshop. You are not stuck, forgotten or abandoned. God is still working.

Some thoughts today from my studies. Let me know if it speaks to you as well.

Spiritual maturity is continuing to seek God when the emotion of seeking Him is absent.

When I cannot feel God’s hand, I will remain anchored in His promise.

Join us this morning at Rock Springs Outreach Center!

Our Adult Sunday School lesson is:

WHEN OBEDIENCE HURTS
How to remain faithful when God’s promises seem far away and the miracle does not come as we hoped.

Sometimes we suffer because of poor choices. Other times, we suffer while sincerely trying to obey God. Jeremiah became discouraged. Asaph almost lost his footing when he saw the wicked prosper. Hebrews 11 tells us that some received great miracles, while others suffered and died believing—but God commended them all for their faith.

Come be encouraged and reminded that pain does not mean God has abandoned you. We can pray boldly, believe completely, grieve honestly, and leave the outcome in God’s hands.

f you are tired and worn down this Sunday morning, here is a word for you, and a simple prayer you can pray right where you are.

God would rather hear our honest pain than our dishonest praise.

“Lord, I am tired—but I am still Yours. Keep my heart tender. Renew the fire within me. Help me obey without allowing the resistance to destroy me.”

Let me here from you this morning if this speaks to you.

My hands were made for worship. God’s hands are strong enough for the weight.
My hands were created to praise God, serve others, and faithfully do what He places within my reach. But they were never designed to carry everything.
God’s hands can hold my family, my responsibilities, my ministry, my unanswered questions—and everything beyond my control.
Today, I will do what God has given me to do. Then I will surrender the rest to Him.
“Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord.” —Psalm 134:2
Lord, I will worship You with my hands and trust what I cannot handle into Yours.
