A little peek at the mom behind The Cakery ❤️

We recently got home from our end-of-summer family getaway to the Wisconsin Dells, and I think we may have packed about as much fun as humanly possible into a few days! 😂

We stayed at Glacier Canyon Lodge and spent plenty of time enjoying all of the water parks. The boys could have stayed in the water all day, every day! 💦

Of course, we had to make sure the trip included some good food, too. We had great meals at MooseJaw and Buffalo Phil’s, ordered pizza right to our hotel room one night (which was such a convenient service to take advantage of!), and splurged with specialty milkshakes at B-Lux. 🍕🍔🥤

We also made sure to stop at the original Culver’s restaurant in Sauk City- our boys asked every day to go there! 🤣

We also squeezed in a duck boat tour, go-kart racing, and a trip to the Bigfoot Snow Tubing hill—where the boys had an absolute BLAST! 🏎️🦆

It was the perfect way to wrap up summer and spend some quality time together before school, schedules, and the craziness of fall take over again. ❤️

Now…back to the kitchen! 👩‍🍳🎂🍪

🎉 Apparently turning THREE means becoming a “Three-nager”! 😂

When Harper and Finley’s birthday invitation landed in my inbox, I knew this was going to be such a fun cake and cupcake order!

I used the invitation as my inspiration to create coordinating desserts that matched the party theme — including edible images featuring the graphics from the invitation along with hand-piped buttercream details. 🖤✨

I absolutely love orders like this, where I get to take a customer’s invitation and turn those colors, graphics and little details into something they can actually eat! 🎂🧁

Four years of birthday cakes & cookies for these girls! 💕 👑

One of my favorite parts of doing this is getting to watch my customers’ families grow - and my cousin’s girls are a perfect example. For the past four years, I’ve had the chance to make something sweet for their birthday celebrations, and it’s been so much fun seeing how their themes and interests change as they get older.

This year was all about princesses and fairytales! 👑 ✨ I made two princess-themed cakes, complete with glitter that could be blown off the cake when they blew out the candle- such a fun little birthday moment!! 🎂

And of course, we had to have coordinating princess cookies to go with them 🩷

It’s pretty special n getting to look back at four years of celebrations and see how much they’ve grown. I’m grateful to get to create something special for them each year! 🥰

You might remember the Mother’s Day cookies I shared where a husband surprised his wife with custom Nightmare Before Christmas themed cookies. 🖤

Well… for Father’s Day, it was her turn to surprise him! ❤️

She requested Dungeon Crawler Carl themed cookies (a very fun and unique theme!) for her husband, and I loved getting to bring this one to life.

For a theme like this, I combined edible images featuring some of the amazing artwork from the series with hand-piped details to create a set that was both recognizable and personal.

These are the kinds of orders I love most — when someone comes to me with an idea that means something to them, and I get to help turn it into something they can celebrate with. 🍪✨

⚾️ ✨ A little local fun! ✨ ⚾️

A couple of weeks ago, we took our kids to the Cosmic Baseball game at Principal Park and had the best time ever as a family!

If you ever get the chance to go- 100% worth it! The atmosphere was so much fun, the kids loved it, and it was such a unique experience! It’s always fun finding new things to do around Central Iowa. 💙

Supporting and enjoying local events is one of my favorite parts of living here!

Also- my son caught a baseball! He was so excited to get one!
