Elbow update! Surgery was last Tuesday.
(I posted on my personal page, but not here!)
The right elbow was a bit more involved. (And more painful) than the left. But so glad to have it done. I’m starting to feel much better, but still have pain. I’m expecting some PT to get strength and mobility back. Thanks for all the well wishes!

Hi friends,
As many of you know, I have had several surgeries related to making cookies. Carpal tunnel on both my wrists, tendon surgery on my left elbow and back surgery. Making cookies is harder than you’d think on my body.
Unfortunately, after having elbow pain on my right elbow since February, this week it finally was pushed too far and it’s shot. Gone. Done.
I have splinted it and tried resting it, but as soon as I start baking or decorating, it seizes up and I can’t use it at all. I can’t even hold a cup of coffee (or glass of wine) or open a door handle. I got in to see my most favorite orthopedic doctor, Dr. Cleland, on Thursday.

I’m scheduled for surgery June 21.

Happy 1st day of summer to me (at least I can wear Lilly that day!)
I am still getting continuous requests for cookies, so unfortunately I can’t take any new orders. And, I have so many orders in my calendar that I won’t be able to fulfill.
I will begin contacting everyone today and I will try to offer suggestions of other cookie makers in the area that could maybe help. This is breaking my heart, as so many of the cookies I make are for very important people in my life. And I love making your special days even more fun (and delicious) with my cookies.
In addition to this crazy elbow, please pray for my sweet mom who I had to rush to the hospital yesterday. She is in the cardiac unit awaiting tests to figure out what is going on with her heart. She gave us all a real scare and we are praying so hard for a quick recovery.

As I approach my 10 year cookie-versary, I am posting to say I will not be taking orders for the remaining part of August or in September. I have been trying to brighten people’s days during this pandemic with “quarantine cookie kits”, filling last minute graduation orders for those seniors that didn’t end with a great senior year, and bringing smiles with cookies to drive-by wedding showers!
I’m going to take some time to enjoy my family and wait to see if my job as a preschool teacher will be starting up or staying closed!
When I do return, I will be raising my prices. After 10 years, there are some cookies that never got a price bump. Most cookies will be $2.00 each with some cookies slightly higher.
