What a great week so for at RJ Ranch!

This week we welcomed three amazing young ladies to the ranch—one returning student and two first-time students. It was a week full of learning, hard work, and time in the saddle.

Sunday evening and Monday were arrival days. The girls learned the daily routine that keeps the ranch running, toured the property, and spent time riding while working on several drills to improve their horsemanship.

Tuesday brought a new set of weanlings into the barn, giving the girls a hands-on opportunity to learn about our weaning process and the care these young horses require. That evening, we attended a jackpot where every run was videoed. Afterward, we reviewed the footage, discussing strengths and identifying areas for improvement—an important part of becoming a better rider. The girls also learned about horse anatomy and the AQHA registration process, gaining a better understanding of what goes into raising and managing quality horses.

Wednesday morning we returned to Port Allen Arena for another day in the saddle, focusing on slow work and correct fundamentals. By slowing everything down and repeating each maneuver, the girls learned how to build proper muscle memory—developing consistency, confidence, and better habits that will carry over when riding at speed.

Thursday was one of the highlights of the week as we painted the exterior muscles on a horse and discussed the function and location of each muscle group. Seeing the anatomy come to life helped connect what they had learned to the horse standing in front of them.

Of course, it wasn’t all work! We also enjoyed some downtime with a friendly team co****le competition, filled with laughs, and teamwork.

One of my favorite parts of each camp is watching the friendships that are formed. Some of the girls arrived already knowing each other, while others came without knowing anyone. By the end of the week, they were encouraging one another, laughing together, and creating memories that I hope will last a lifetime.

Seeing these young ladies build confidence, support each other, and leave as lifelong friends is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do at RJ Ranch. I’m also proud of each of these young ladies for their willingness to work hard, ask questions, and step outside their comfort zones. Watching their confidence and knowledge grow throughout the week is exactly what this program is all about.

Thank you to the parents for trusting me with your daughters and allowing them to experience life at RJ Ranch. I can’t wait to see where their horsemanship journey takes them!

Auscope/Myopulse Success Story #2

One of my favorite parts of what I do is watching the progress that can happen over time.

This foal was born over at the knees. I introduced Acuscope/Myopulse therapy while he remained comfortable in the stall with his mom, creating a calm, low-stress environment for his treatments.

The photos show his journey:

Every horse responds differently, and no treatment can guarantee specific results. My goal is always to support the body’s natural function, encourage proper movement, and help each horse perform and develop to the best of its ability.

Seeing this young foal’s progress has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m grateful to be part of his journey.

If you’re interested in learning more about how Acuscope therapy may benefit your horse, I’d love to answer your questions.

Acuscope/Myopulse Success story 1 January 2024

One horse that confirmed I was on the right path was a yearling horse with a fractured coffin bone.
The client wanted to give it every chance to recover and return to its full potential. Knowing that Acuscope and Myopulse therapy can help accelerate healing by up to 50%, we created a plan to support its recovery alongside proper veterinary care and management.
For three months, I worked consistently with this horse, focusing on supporting the nervous system, encouraging proper muscle function, and focusing on concentrated area of the hoof. Each month X-rays were taken to see the progress and see if we were still on the road to recovery.

Now a 3 year old it has gone on to earn more than $200,000 in race earnings, and that experience reinforced why I became an Acuscope and Myopulse Certified Therapist. It showed me the powerful potential of supporting the body’s natural healing process with non-invasive therapy.
Every horse has a unique story, and every treatment plan is individualized. Whether your horse is recovering from an injury, competing at a high level, or simply needs preventative care to stay feeling and performing its best, my goal is to help optimize overall wellness and movement.
If you’d like to learn how Acuscope and Myopulse therapy may benefit your horse please feel to contact me.
