Another week another news update.

🚗💨Oct 9th-14th we are CLOSED. I will have items online that you can order. I won't be able to meet with you until the 15th.

💻Online Farm Store.
Online Farm Store is open this week from Tues-Saturday.

🛍Lakeridge Winery Farmers Market. I wont be at the market on the 10th or 17th. 24th we are back, with limited stock.

🦃 Thanksgiving turkey are still up for Reservations. Fresh never Frozen (unless needed). $10/lb, $40 deposit (goes towards the total). Pick-up is FARM only on Nov. 22nd.

🍳Eggs?
Its a weird time right now. My hens have now become freeloaders. We arent getting the amount of eggs, I genuinely like to have. Im hoping by the cooler days, they will increase egg production.

🍗Chicken!!!
Oh yes. Early November looks as though its the date for chicken processing. If you are interested in pre-ordering. This can be done two ways: online or by texting me. Orders are taken care of first before we play Russian Roulette at market. We sell out quickly, I wouldn't wait around.

We do not have a "farmstand" to openly visit everyday. Due to high traffic and supervised time it needs. We do meet at the gate of the farm, and you can see everything going on.

Monday Farm News.

A Thank-you to those that comes out to see us at the Lakeridge Winery Farmers Market every Saturday. 9am-3pm.
It seriously brings us so much joy knowing we get to feed our community good pasture-raised poultry. Our chickens may be living their best liIfe, but YOU are the reason we get to keep doing what we love!

Why am I getting an AI person when I call you?!
Well… when you’re in your 30s and getting 20+ phone calls a day about Medicare/Medicaid, you start getting a little protective of your sanity. I work on the farm all day, to stop production and answer a spam call gets to be a waste of time.
So yes, I have a filter that helps make sure I’m actually talking to a REAL HUMAN before I answer.
If you need to get ahold of me ASAP, texting is the easiest way to reach me!

Do you have a Farm Store/Farm Stand?
Nope! We don’t currently have a farm stand. Our road has gotten WAY too busy, and we can’t safely leave farm products sitting out without someone watching over them.
The easiest way to shop with us is through our website.
You can order product on our online store Tuesday–Friday.

Chicken!
We will be having a processing date in late October-early November. Tomorrow we open up pre-orders for small bulk to chicken breasts. Please read description before ordering.

TURKEY, TURKEY, TURKEY! 🦃
We still have plenty of turkeys out enjoying the pasture that have NOT been reserved yet!
This year’s pasture-raised turkeys are $10/lb and will be FARM PICK-UP ONLY on November 22nd.

So if you’ve been thinking, “I really should get a turkey from a local farm” — this is your sign!

Fun morning yesterday before market.
I hear the pigs rustling around outside. I already know a few of the sows are in heat.
I walk outside, only to be greeted by the most AWFUL musk imaginable.

Massive wild boar is in the YARD. Not the pen like usual. The YARD.
So I gently go wake up my husband. Because once that man is in a deep sleep, waking him up quickly is apparently not an option.

We head outside like we’re on some kind of late-night safari hunt. My heart is pounding, adrenaline is flowing, and I’m trying to be as quiet as possible.
Finally, we spot him.

Husband tells me, “Shine the light!”
Apparently, I immediately revert back to being a little kid trying to help Dad…I’m shining the flashlight where he can't see to shoot.

Then…
The first shot goes off.

Now we have one very scared, very pissed-off, massive boar.
And what does he decide to do?

He starts CHARGING OUT OF THE SOW PEN…
STRAIGHT TOWARD ME.

My eyes get huge!
And all I can think is: "Oh, F***!"
Husband yelling at me like Jenny telling Forest Gump to "RUN!"

The boar breaks through the fence. I sprint towards the North. Thank goodness the boar sprints to the South.
Husband let's off another shot. The boar drops.

I'm thankful we took care of it when we did. We have three kids and if someone walked out in the morning. Wild pigs are nothing to mess with.
