🩷 In Loving Memory of My Daddy 🩷
September 2 • Four Years in Heaven
September 2nd marks four years since my Daddy went to Heaven. Four years without hearing his voice, seeing his face, or holding the hand of the man who held mine through so much of my life.
My Daddy was blessed with 90 beautiful years on this earth. He was a proud Korean War veteran, a devoted husband to my Mama, a man of strong Christian faith, and the father of two children, me, Renee, and my little brother, Scottie.
Our family knew tremendous heartbreak. My little brother went to Heaven when he was only 2 years old. I was just 5. His death devastated our little family in a way that only those who have experienced such a loss could understand.
But my Daddy knew the Lord.
His faith was strong, and through God's mercy and grace, somehow we endured what seemed impossible to endure. 💔 God carried us through.
After losing Scottie, my Mama and Daddy poured everything they had into me. They were protective, sometimes VERY protective, but there was never a single moment when I didn't know that I was fiercely loved.
And my Daddy loved his little girl deeply and dearly until the very day he took his last breath.
He never wanted me far from him. And in those final hours of his life, even when he could no longer have known I was there, I was right beside him.
Holding his hand.
Just like he had held mine so many times while I was growing up. 🩷
There really aren't words big enough for the profound and lasting love and respect I have for my Daddy. He helped shape the woman I became. He taught me strength, loyalty, faith, perseverance, and what it meant to love your family with everything you've got.
I miss him more than words can say, but I have a comfort and peace that this world could never give me. I know where my Daddy is. I know he is with the Lord, and because of Jesus, I know our goodbye wasn't forever.
One day, I'll see him again.
Until then, I will carry him with me.
He was my HERO.
My SOLDIER. 🇺🇸
My MENTOR.
And most importantly...
he was my DADDY. 🩷
And anybody who knew Daddy knew there was something else he took VERY seriously...
LSU FOOTBALL! 🐅💜💛
He was a HARDCORE LSU fan, and I can only imagine how excited he'd be about his Tigers and the upcoming season. I can almost hear him now.
So Daddy, this one's for you...
GEAUX TIGERS!!! 🐅💜💛
Four years in Heaven, Daddy, and your little girl still loves you just as much.
I'll love you forever.
I'll miss you for the rest of my days.
Until I see you again...
Love always,
Your Little Girl,
Na 🩷
