This past weekend, we welcomed a wonderful group of orchardists, homesteaders, community orchard stewards, and future tree growers for our 🍎Holistic Orchard Intensive.

A huge thank you to Mike Biltonen of Know Your Roots Orchard Consulting for sharing his knowledge, experience, and vision with us.

Mike offered practical insights that participants can put to work right away, while also helping us explore the deeper foundations of holistic orchard management: observation, reciprocity, and building a genuine relationship with the land.

Together, we explored soil health and tree nutrition, strategies for fostering thriving fungal and microbial communities, viewing the orchard as a living ecosystem, and approaches to pest and disease management rooted in overall tree health.

We ended the weekend inspired to work with our trees, uplifted by the good work of folks around us, and excited to watch the web of holistically minded growers continue to grow and thrive.🌳

📅Mike will join us again in June of 2027 for another Orchard Intensive Weekend!
