🥂 Backroom Reservations

Thursday, Saturday, AND Sunday! Who knew we could do it all? From bridal showers and birthdays to Mahjong gatherings, we’re happy to have a space for all kinds of get-togethers. ❤️

🍎 New C***r Update: CHAI!

Looking for a new fall favorite? Our new Chai c***r is here! Smooth, slightly sweet, and served on nitro for that creamy, velvety finish. It’s giving cozy fall vibes, and we think it’s worth a try!

🍓 Raspberry & 🥃 Bourbon Barrel Updates

Raspberry is down to its final keg for a little while! Once that keg kicks, Bourbon Barrel should be making its return this weekend.

🍏 Caramel Apple Update

Caramel Apple kicked last weekend, and unfortunately, it won’t be back this weekend. We need to catch up on some cleaning, kegging, and other behind-the-scenes tasks before we can get another batch going. The c***r doesn’t make itself, friends! 😉

Happy Saturday, Friends! 🍎

Owners’ Update!

When things get busy, apparently everything decides to happen at once! 😂 Yesterday and today brought deliveries of juice, new cans, AND mulch for the orchard. Because why do one thing at a time when you can do all the things?

Right now, the juice is taking priority so we can get started on making our 2027 c***r batches for the 21+ crowd! 🍏

That means our cans will have to wait until later this week to make their way back into the c***ry. Unfortunately, we will be without to-go cans today and Sunday. 😔 We appreciate your patience while we get everything ready for the next round of c***r!

🍽️ Backroom: Our backroom is reserved for a private dinner tonight, but the rest of the c***ry is open as usual!

🧠 Community Trivia: Still looking for something to do tonight? You can sign up a last-minute team for Trivia at the Community Center at 6:30 PM! Grab your team, pack some snacks, and get those thinking caps on!

🍕 Pizza: Our FULL pizza menu is available today, with pizza served until 9 PM. Come hungry!

A few updates from around South Porch this week!

🥫 CANS!

We’re down to just 6 c***r cans and 6 soda cans that we can still fill! We’re making the switch to pre-labeled cans, and they’re supposed to arrive next week! 🎉 Keep an eye out for pictures once they get here. We’re excited to show you the new look!

🍎 C***RS

We’re running with 10 c***rs on tap again this week. The one you might be missing? Bourbon Barrel! Don’t worry, it’s coming back soon! The next batch is already kegged, but it still needs to carbonate. Good things take time, friends!

🥤 SODAS

For the first time since opening our taps, we have SIX homemade sodas on tap! 🙌

Here’s what you can choose from:

Basically, we took some German-inspired comfort food and put it on a pizza. What could go wrong? 😉

Happy Wednesday, Friends! 🍎

This year’s local apple crop was pretty slim, but we took what we could get! Every apple counts, and we’re grateful for the ones we got our hands on. 🙂

Pictured: Crystal pressing apples. Luke has been asking for more pictures of us actually working at the farm and c***ry. The problem? Crystal is rarely dressed up, wearing makeup, or mentally prepared to have her picture taken. 😂

But let’s be honest… this is pretty much what you’d see if you spotted Crystal in the wild. Just add 1–3 children hanging off her somewhere, and you’ve got the full, unfiltered experience.

Happy Friday, Friends!

The busy season continues! The c***ry opens at 5 PM tonight, and if a pork supper from the Preschool fundraiser isn’t on your dinner plans, we’ll have pizza available until 9 PM!

The picture is Crystal and our youngest, sneaking in some snuggles during nap time while trying to get tax reports done. ❤️ Sometimes, you just have to make things work where you can.

We want to be honest about something. We aren’t a perfectly polished, well-oiled business that has everything figured out. We’re a family doing our best to run a business, raise our kids, and make time for the people and community around us.

We want our kids to grow up knowing what hard work looks like, but also knowing that showing up for your family, loving your people, and being part of something bigger than yourself matters just as much.

We’re in our busy season. This year, we’ve had to purchase more juice than we have in the past, but we’re still pressing apples, planning new batches, experimenting with c***r flavors, and dreaming up new pizzas for Grundy Center. There’s a lot happening behind the scenes, and we’re doing our best to keep building something we can be proud of.

At the heart of it all, South Porch has always been about more than c***r and pizza. It’s about having a place to gather, catch up with a friend, meet someone new, bring your family, or simply take a break from the demands of everyday life.

Small-town community doesn’t just happen. It grows when people show up for one another, support local businesses, make time to connect, and create spaces where people feel welcome.

So if you’re looking for a little fellowship, a good meal, or simply a place to spend time with others, come find us. There’s community here in Grundy Center, and we’re grateful to be a small part of it.

Here’s what’s going on in and around Grundy Center this weekend!

THURSDAY — Girls Night Out 💕

Downtown Grundy Center is the place to be from 4:30–7:30 PM for Girls Night Out!

At South Porch, we’ll have our apple flight boxes available to-go, plus dine-in apple flights, regular c***r flights, pizza, and, of course, a wonderful place to sit and hang out with your people.

And Treasure Nest will be here with their jewelry bar and permanent jewelry!

So come downtown, shop around, grab some food, make a little jewelry… basically, do all the things small towns supposedly have nothing to do. 😉

FRIDAY

The Grundy Center Preschool & Childcare Pork Supper Fundraiser will be happening before the football game in the high school cafeteria. Go support the kiddos, grab some supper, and then head out to cheer on the Spartans!

SATURDAY — Iowa Falls

Luke will be pouring at the Iowa Falls W**e, Brew & Art Walk from 11 AM–3 PM in downtown Iowa Falls.

There will be lots of shops, drinks, artists, and plenty to wander around and check out. And yes, Luke will be there doing his very important c***r-pouring duties. 😂

Happy Saturday, friends! 🍂

With the start of October, we decided it was time to add a little more decoration around here! Thanks to Deb Hach for helping us out! She did a wonderful job decorating our front windows and giving us a little more spooky holiday spirit! 👻

We love the change for the month! And just in case you were wondering… Christmas decorations start going up mid-November. 😂 Who needs Thanksgiving, right?

And this one is a little different… because we’re bringing back a pizza for the first time!

🥨 The Bavarian Pizza is back!

Sauerkraut, kielbasa, caramelized onions, pretzel crust, and a cheddar cheese drizzle. Basically, everything you need to make your pizza feel like it should be wearing lederhosen.

The last time we had it, it was only available for 3 Saturdays, so a lot of you didn’t get nearly enough chances to decide whether it was actually as good as you remember.

Now you have more opportunities. 😉
