Every morning they try one last trick… 🥹🐾

The moment they see my work shoes, they suddenly become tiny roadblocks. Walking in front of me, wrapping around my feet, and giving me those “please don’t leave us” eyes.

Wish these kittens could have me home every day. 🐱🤍

One day, Asbach Acres will be my full-time job. Until then… these little goodbyes make leaving the hardest part of my day.

Today’s thrift haul was one for the books! 🚗💛 We spent the day treasure hunting in Mishawaka, Indiana, and somehow managed to pack the car to the brim with the most incredible vintage finds.

Every piece has a story, a little character, and a second chance to be loved. Honestly… why buy new when you can fill your home with treasures that have history? 😍

I’m thrift-obsessed, and this haul has me dreaming up all the cozy grandma-core corners we’re going to create at Asbach Acres. 🤎✨

Bless This Mess

I was absolutely convinced I planted watermelon. 🍉

I’ve been watching these vines grow for months, checking on them like a proud plant mom. Yesterday I practically did a happy dance when I spotted my “watermelons” finally starting to grow…

…only to have some amazing friends (Thank You) gently break the news that those are definitely not watermelons. 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

So… surprise! It looks like we are about to have a VERY generous butternut squash harvest! 🎃🌿

I guess this is what happens when you’re a first-time gardener with more enthusiasm than experience. 😂 Every day is a learning adventure around here, and honestly, that’s half the fun!

Now I need your help…

🌾 Plot Twist 🐐

When I told my husband I wasn’t inspired by expensive purses, designer shoes, or fancy things anymore and just wanted a simple country life…

He definitely thought he hit the jackpot. 💰😂

Fast forward…

Now I get excited over:
🤎 Antique crocks that “just needed a home.”
🐓 “One more” chicken (for the 15th time).
🐐 Goats with personalities bigger than humans.
🌼 Wildflowers I’ll probably forget I planted.
🪑 Furniture that’s “only a three-day restoration project.”
🫙 Vintage jars because you never know.
🚜 Tractor attachments.
🐴 Feed bills.
🌻 Every rusty treasure at every flea market within a 100-mile radius.

Turns out, I didn’t stop shopping…

I just traded Louis Vuitton for livestock.
Louboutins for mud boots.
Nordstrom for Tractor Supply.
And apparently antiques appreciate in value… according to me. 😅

Poor Josh has slowly realized that “simple country living” is somehow WAY more expensive than my designer handbag era.

But honestly?

I wouldn’t trade this beautifully chaotic life for all the luxury in the world. ❤️

Welcome to Asbach Acres… where the animals multiply, the antiques follow us home, and “it’s only $20” somehow happens five times every Saturday. 🤠😂

✨🍉 BIG NEWS!!! WE HAVE WATERMELONS!!! 🍉✨

I may have done a little happy dance when I spotted these tiny little melons! 🥹💚

Almost 5 months ago, these were just tiny seeds tucked into the dirt with a whole lot of hope and a prayer. Countless hours of watering, weeding, and cheering them on later… they’re finally here! 🌱

They’re still little, but watching something grow from a seed into food you’ll one day harvest never gets old. Here’s hoping these babies keep growing into the sweetest, juiciest watermelons! 🍉❤️

Anyone else get ridiculously excited over the first fruit in the garden? 🥳

There was a time when this life felt so far away.

Now my days are filled with braying donkeys, crowing roosters, mischievous kittens, playful dogs, and the kind of peace I used to only dream about. 🤍🌾

This little farm isn’t perfect. There are endless chores, muddy boots, early mornings, and plenty of unexpected surprises… but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Sometimes the life you’ve been praying for doesn’t arrive all at once—it grows one small step, one leap of faith, and one animal at a time. 🫶

If you’ve ever dreamed of slowing down and creating a life that feels like home, this is your reminder to keep going. Your dream is worth chasing. ❤️

🇺🇸❤️ Happy 4th of July from our little slice of heaven here at Asbach Acres! ❤️🇺🇸

Today we’re celebrating this beautiful country, the freedoms we often take for granted, and the simple joy of watching our homestead dreams come to life. We feel incredibly blessed to call this place home and are reminded every day just how much there is to be thankful for.

And in true Asbach Acres fashion… we had a very special patriotic announcement this morning. 🐓😂

Cluck Norris is officially a rooster! He greeted America’s 250th birthday by crowing for the very first time. We’d like to think he was just wishing everyone a Happy Independence Day. 🇺🇸☀️

From our family (and all of our four-legged, feathered, and furry farm crew) to yours, we hope your day is filled with laughter, family, good food, and gratitude.

I hired the cutest garden crew I could find… turns out they only accept payment in cuddles and absolutely refuse to do any actual work. 🐱😂

Today’s “helpers” specialized in:
🌱 Sitting exactly where I needed to plant.
🐾 Attacking the seed packets.
🌼 Digging up everything I just planted.
😴 Taking breaks every 12 seconds.
💛 Looking adorable enough that I couldn’t even be mad.

Despite the lack of productivity from management, we FINALLY got this garden bed tilled and planted! I know it’s late in the season and hotter than the surface of the sun, but I figured… why not?

We planted zinnias, bee balm, pansies, cosmos, and calendula. Fingers crossed they survive my furry landscaping crew! 🤣

Anyone else have “helpers” that somehow make every chore take three times longer? ❤️

Today marks 62 days alcohol free.

Part of my journey toward a healthier lifestyle—both physically and mentally—has been making choices that align with the life I want to live. While the journey hasn’t always been easy, it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself.

One thing that has made a huge difference is Athletic Brewing Company. Their non-alcoholic beers have become a staple in our house. They’re refreshing, delicious, low calorie, and allow me to enjoy the experience of having a beer without the alcohol.

I’m grateful for every day, every small choice, and every step forward. Here’s to 62 days and counting. 🍻✨
