It takes a village and a Network of Networks to build a Network. Our ED learning in collaboration with and alongside some of our crucial partners:

We rely heavily on best practices and templates from other successful food hub networks and both the Northwest and Eastern have been hugely informative in our process. We use business planning frameworks for hub-to-hub fulfillment, best practices for institutional procurement and templates for MOUs and governance. We couldn't do it without our network of generous support, and smart colleagues with big hearts and solid values.

It takes and village and we're eternally grateful to them all.

More news on developments coming soon!

Really delicious Mandarins start with healthy soil stewarded by wise hands with generations of place- based knowledge.

We walked the lushly cover-cropped orchard outside of Esparto with Jose to understand how carefully complex their organic production methods are; starting with a custom cover crop containing daikon.

Gold Oak Ranch is the product of a 20-year working relationship between Jose Luis Melendez and David Scheuring. The Partnership grows organic mandarins and conventional almonds, walnuts, and pistachios at three locations in the Capay Valley: Rumsey, Brooks, and in Esparto at Gold Oak Ranch. Yolo County’s second largest oak resides at the Esparto location, giving the partnership its name. The Gold Oak Partnership is dedicated to sustainable production in a pleasant and satisfying work environment.

Fruit is hand-picked by Jose's crew and delivered to for sorting, weighing, packing and delivery to customers in the larger Sacramento and Bay Area regions.

This is some of the most delicious citrus 🍊 we've had in years. Call Jake at the farm shop to order yours today and support this local farm 🚜 link in bio to connect.

These lovelies are the Cherokee heirloom squash variety known as the North Georgia Candy Roaster. From the original Cherokee home lands of the Southern Appalachians, it is known for its oblong whimsical shape and sweet, creamy, velvety sweet potato-like flesh that was bred and stewarded by the Cherokee Nation in the 1800s in Georgia, before their forced migration to Oklahoma.

Unique, with tasty orange flesh, this variety is easy to peel and delicious in your favorite autumnal dishes like roasting, soups and pies.

Thank you to Carine and Robert for growing this delightful squash and telling this important seed- saving story of indigenous food sovereignty.

🥕 Big news for Yolo County's food future!

The Yolo Food Hub Network is transforming how fresh, local food reaches our communities.

We're building the infrastructure to connect local farmers directly to schools, hospitals, and more, ensuring food justice and building a more resilient food system from the ground up. This initiative is about proactive solutions, feeding people, supporting farmers, and creating lasting health!

🍅 Tomato Season is Here!

Farmer Spotlight: Durst Organics

There's nothing quite like the burst of flavor from a sun-ripened Yolo County tomato! This tomato season, we are thrilled to shine our Farmer Spotlight on Durst Organics (Durst Organic Growers on Instagram/Facebook) and their founder, Jim Durst.

Jim's passion for growing truly healthy food runs deep, alongside his unwavering commitment to access for all. His words truly resonate with our mission:
