Not a good day yesterday for Lowell and myself. We had to make the hard decision to let PGCH Naughty Goat Acres SlapJack go to goat heaven. He was my favorite buck, being such a good boy. He sired many nice babies, including Natl Reserve Champion LnS LaidbackRanch Jovi and Reserve Grand LnS Laidback Ranch Ellie Mae as a 6 month old. Thankfully I kept daughters and sons by him, so he will be remembered through them.

What a way to finish the year out for me! To my complete surprise, my home grown LnS Laidback Ranch Jovi won Natl Reserve Platinum Wether! He was competing against many awesome Platinum Wethers. A big congratulations goes out to Daniel Brison and The Farmstead on Chisholm Kilimanjaro for winning Natl Champion. Also, congratulations to all the Natl winners.
It was great getting to see, visiting, and joking with all my goatie friends. Until the 2026 show season, God willing, we will see each other again with new and older goats!

Traveled to the Rumble On The Rocks show in Illinois this past weekend for the first time. It was a long trip for me, but well worth it. I had an awesome seeing and visiting with everyone, and meeting new MGR members. My goats did better than I expected. I only brought 5 and all at least placed in the top 5. We only showed Friday night and Saturday morning, being that we needed to get back home Saturday evening.

LnS Laidback Ranch Libby placed 5th in show A and 2nd in show B in the 12 to 18 month out of a big class of 15

LnS Laidback Ranch Lizzy placed 4th in the 12 to 18 month

Oeltjenbruns Farms Jadis placed 2nd in show B and 1st in show B taking Reserve Grand (pending verification )

LnS Laidback Ranch Jovi was Grand Champion ( pending verification )in both Show A and B

WP Bleu Bayou took Grand Champion (pending verification ) in show A and 4th in show B.

I want to thank the Treadwells , the Priors and all who put on the great show. Also I cannot forget to thank Krystal and Summer O’Bryan for driving, helping me and putting up with me!
Sorry, I didn’t get any pictures of Libby and Lizzy at the show.

It is a total shame that I will have to wether this guy! He would have made an excellent buck, in my opinion, but I guess he will be a nice show wether. He will be 3 months June 3rd.
