I hate to let things go. I went inside after they loaded her in the trailer. She wasn’t my favorite cow, she didn’t fit what we needed or can do right now. But all I could think about was how excited I was when I bought her, how hopeful I was thinking about all the ways “things were working out”, fulfilling a dream I thought I had. Not quite realized, never achieved with that cow.

But sometimes doing less is better in the long game. Life goes on doesn’t it.

Doing chores late and after kids bedtimes makes for a quiet night. Just the wind ❤️

We were late doing chores to avoid some heat, they were not impressed.

This pig got loose last night and is living his best life making mud holes everywhere.
The cows were all lined up to watch us try and start taking their barn roof apart so they can get back inside what is left.

What a night. What a day. We suffered some heavy tree damage. Lost one chicken and nothing else, praise God. All the animals (and us) were shaken up. Both of our animal barns have lost their roofs. For me thats the worst part- no good shelter for them. Things are thrown about. Vehicle a little damaged. Our house took some damage from super high wind and water, mainly windows and the roof. No power yet, but a generator is keeping a deep freeze and fridge going.

My neighbor text that Max Velocity clocked the wind by our house between 130-140mph. They also thought they watched rotation above our place. It’s wild to even think about.

So very thankful everyone was safe.
