Sweetest friends

It is with a heavy heart, yet ane overflowing with gratitude, that we announce that tomorrow night, Tuesday evening—at the start of the Nine Days of Av—the Wandering Que will close our doors for the final time.

For the past 20 years, you have welcomed us into your lives and trusted us to be part of your most cherished family smachot, Shabbos meals, community gatherings, and life's greatest celebrations. Your love, encouragement, and unwavering support have been the fuel that kept us rolling and roadtripping on this incredible barbecue journey.

In the summer of 2012, what began as an ambitious dream quickly became something much larger than we ever imagined. Inspired by Daniel Delaney's 3,200 pounds of brisket sold online and served at pop-ups throughout New York City, we took a leap of faith and opened the first kosher pop-up a 4 Day Roadside Smokehouse in the Bronx. On that smoky, tent-covered parking lot in Riverdale, we served more than 3,000 neighbors, friends, and families. None of us could have known that day would help spark a renaissance in kosher barbecue, changing not only our lives but also the kosher culinary landscape.

Over the years, that single roadside smokehouse grew into a journey that carried us across the country. We were privileged to serve hundreds of Jewish communities, near and far, sharing meals that brought people together around the a comon table. We've had the extraordinary honor of catering weddings for couples who first met—or had their very first date—while standing in line at one of our street fairs, only to celebrate with them again years later at their children's brit milah and b'nei mitzvah. We have shared in milestone anniversaries, Shabbat kiddushim, Thanksgiving feasts, Yom Tov celebrations, bustling New York City street fairs, Kiddushfest, Fleishfest, Whiskey Jewbilee and countless ordinary weekday meals in Englewood or communities in the surrounding 13 states that became extraordinary simply because they were shared together and made with love.

Every town we rolled into, every brisket smoked, every conversation we had around the fire or across the chopping board reminded us that what we were building was never just a restaurant or a catering company but a community of smoke whisperers and lovers. Your support nourished us every bit as much as we hoped our food nourished you. For that, we will be forever grateful.

We also want to express our deepest appreciation to the incredible people who made this journey possible: our hardworking staff, past and present, whose dedication and passion brought the Wandering Que to life every single day; the STAR-K and the RCBC for their partnership and guidance throughout the years; and above all, to you—our loyal guests and friends. Thank you for believing in us, standing in our lines, filling our dining rooms, inviting us into your homes, and allowing us to be part of your family's story.

Though this chapter is coming to an end, the memories, friendships, and community we have built together will remain with us forever. We leave with hearts full of gratitude, pride, and countless unforgettable moments.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for twenty remarkable years.

Aish Tamid Tukah al HaMizbeyach - Lo Tichbe
Keep those fires burning bright.

Bechol l'Vavi and endless gratitude,

Ari White and the entire Wandering Que BBQ Family

A Note About Catering & Shipping

While Tuesday evening will mark our final day of regular service at the Wandering Que, our work is not quite finished.

The Smokehouse will remain in operation for approximately the next month as we fulfill our existing catering commitments. During the next two weeks, we will also continue to accept orders for shipped barbecue. These orders will be scheduled and fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to our remaining production capacity.

If you've been meaning to place one last order or stock your freezer with your favorite Wandering Que barbecue, we encourage you to do so soon.

Thank you once again for your understanding, your support, and for allowing us to finish this journey the same way it began—serving our community.

Orders will be sent out by courier service and UPS.
