Hello friends! Robert and I have been busy on the farm. The high tunnel is ready! Today I planted lettuce. Soon the tomatoes and cucumbers will need to be trellised. The Talon onions are looking fabulous and they have been hardening off. They will be going out in the field as soon it gets a little warmer and we still haven’t prepared the fields yet. I’ve started a lot of seedlings that will be transplanted outside in May, but still have a lot more veggies that need to be started indoors. I hope we can get it all done! The Hagerman Farmers market will run from May 5-September 29. We will also be in Mountain Home as soon as produce is ready.
Happy Easter everyone!

Hello friends! Happy plants always bring smiles to the farm and every spring brings hope and the anticipation of eating from the garden. I’ve started a few plants to be planted in the tunnel for an earlier harvest, but it’s almost time to start seedlings for the outdoor gardens as well. I have already started indoor the 2,000 onion seeds that will be transplanted out in field. Today they are getting a trim, which helps to establish a stronger plant. The green peppers have finally decided to pop out and say hello. Tomato plants are happy also. There’s no turning back the season has begun for Happy Ohana Farms.
Happy season everyone!

Hello family and friends! It's time to come out of hibernation and play with the dirt and start growing something! Please help us decide what to grow this season. We will be starting a few cold season crops in the high tunnel, like lettuce and spinach to get a jump start on the season. Many of the vegetables we do grow don't go in the ground outdoors till the middle of May.
We usually grow green beans, carrots, tomatoes, salad cucumbers, sweet peppers, jalapenos, watermelons and corn. This season we will have a long storage onion again called Talon. I promise I will try not to kill them like I did last year. Give us your feedback we will try and introduce some new veggies. Remember everything is organically grown and the seed is organic.
This season we will be at our local Hagerman Farmers Market on Sundays from 9-1pm. and we still need to work out the details for the Mountain Home Pop-up market.
Happy Gardening!
