Morning 8! Tired tired tired

In a way yesterday we started to plant flowers again!

Day 7!
Lots of things got done, and I guess you could say the replanting has begun! This time with a new flower! The cigar flower!

Not mentioned we also fixed some of the irrigation that is throughout the berm/ road area

Day 6: yesterday was a busy day! It’s nice to have the farm put back together some!
Busy day again today, but with some real time planned in the field 💗
Today is actually day 7! But our update with what I do today will come later 🙆🏽‍♀️

Day 5: This is what I found on the farm this morning! Not to crazy thankfully!

This is also a old voicemail, from Luis Dasilveira
So far this has been the first natural disaster that we have not lost water this year! Let’s hope it stays that way !!

Making wholesale orders, running deliveries, then back to clean up the farm this afternoon!
See ya then!

Day 4 of posting until it looks like a farm again (but posted on day 5)

I was really hoping we could do a full transformation video of the greenhouse today, but hurricane prep became my mission and my phone died early on 🥲

This is the “messiest” area on the farm, so I’m happy I spent some time doing farm dishes and organizing pot mountain.

It’s also been one of the saddest/ heaviest areas to finish cleaning. It’s like closing a chapter on the farm. Cleaning feed dishes for animals that are no longer here and putting away projects that keep getting destroyed from natural disasters.
It feels good to put closure into this chapter. I also feel guilty when so many of my friends island wide are starting their journeys of digging out and rebuilding their homes and farms.
This year has been a tough year for all farmers throughout the state with more weather events to come..

Please keep Hawai’i in your thoughts 🤍

Day 3 of posting until it looks like a flower farm again!

Introducing the flower that never left us.. crownflower or pua kalaunu!
We have 3 types growing at the farm: purple, white and mini purple, with over 100 trees. Most mornings if you drive by the farm, chances are you see us picking from the trees.
These flowers go all over island after they leave the farm. We sell by weight and strand to our wholesale accounts,, and offer pre made lei for sale to our local community.
It’s really cool and special to provide locally grown flowers to our local florist, shops, and grocery stores.

Day 2 of posting every day until it looks like a farm again:
Today we won’t get a transformation video, I am working off sight and won’t be back to the field until after dark. I guess that means tomorrow we get two reels ??

Enjoy this video of twisting a lei from last weekend 🧡🧡🤍🤍
