Well, the garlic is hung and the heritage wheat gathered. We are officially out of the field we’ve been growing in for the past 7 years. One knee surgery and a house sale to go and then we’ll be moving again!

Fallow: a period of rest and renewal to break the cycles of pest and disease, and to increase fertility. If you’ve heard the rumors, at least some of them are true. You won’t find us at the farmers markets this year while we pick up our roots and relocate. 2025 is a fallow year for us. More details to be shared as we firm up what we’re doing.

These sweet newborn babes have no clue about the atrocities unfolding in the world right now. They are oblivious to the violence and indecency being foisted on this country. They aren’t worried about the impact this will take on so many. We are not like these kids- we see what’s happening, we are very concerned and we see loved ones around us who are sharing their courage. Resistance takes many forms and we need all of them right now.

Come join us Saturday, 9am-noon at our farm on E Record St in Halfway for our 3rd Annual Holiday Pop-Up Market! We’ll have lots of produce and seasonings to fill out your holiday cooking list, so many breads, piles of holiday treats, and more. Grab a free cup of coffee, warm up beside the firepit, and take a ride on the horse-drawn wagon. Fun and good cheers for the whole family!

This year we trialed a new (to us) type of tomato- an Italian winter storage tomato called Pienello Rosso. These tomatoes are grown in a way that allows them to keep, fully ripe, for months after picking. These clusters were picked in September (picture 1) and hung up in the kitchen. Picture 2 is from October, picture 3 from late November, and the final picture is a cluster we sliced for dinner last night. A few were a little wrinkled, but they all were still firm and juicy and tart! There’s some trial and error we made through the process of growing these, but such a treat to eat our own ripe tomatoes in mid-December! Many thanks to .seeds for putting out such amazing and rare varieties!

Just a week to go till our final pop-up market of the year! Saturday the 21st, 9am-noon. Produce, seasonings, breads, holiday baked goods and more! Free coffee, firepit and horse-drawn wagon rides.

Come join us on Saturday, 9am-noon, at our farm on E Record St in Halfway for our3rd Annual Harvest Pop-Up Market! Lots of garlic, potatoes, onions, radicchio, winter tomatoes, herbs and spice mixes, jelly, squash, breads, and more! Free hot drinks and a firepit. We’ll be indoors, so rain or snow we’re a go!

It’s almost time again! Join us for our 3rd Annual Harvest Pop-Up Market at our farm in Halfway on Saturday, November 23 from 9am-noon. Get the produce you need going into holiday season, grab some breads and more. Enjoy a free hot drink beside the firepit. This is also the last opportunity this year to use up your Farm Direct Dollars at our farm!

It’s the first time in harness for this little guy. Just a fitting and to see what he thinks of it. We’re still a little ways off from serious training, but every bit to ease him in will make it that much easier. August, so far living up to his name.

If you’re wondering where to get our produce now that the farmers market season is over, here’s some options! Save the date for pop-up markets on our farm: Saturday, November 23 and Saturday, December 21. You can find a wide selection of our garlic at Bella Mercantile in Baker City and La Grande. We are also delighted to partner with Old Soul’s Farm Market (42692 Pocahontas Rd, Baker City) and Nella Mae’s Farmstand (69361 Antles Rd, Cove) to stock a variety of produce as well!
