We didn't get many PA fiddleheads this year due to weather extremes, but we now have some perfect Maine fiddleheads from our friends at . If you don't know, fiddleheads are a wild spring vegetable that I look forward to every year. The flavor is somewhere between asparagus and green beans, and they are great with mushrooms. We'll have them at in Gratz and the market this Friday. If you can't make either of those and want some of these beauties, let me know, we'll try to work something out

Hi everyone, just a quick update for this week. I won't be at Boalsburg farmer's market today, I need a day to get caught up with some farm work. Friday you can find us at Crossroads in Gratz and I will be set up at .provisions for their birthdah bash on Saturday with free sa.ples of mushroom jerky and tea plus fresh mushrooms and more. Things are about to get busy as the outdoor market season ramps up!

The spring foraging season is under way! We have a limited amount of ramps aka wild leeks available at Crossroads in Gratz today and at on Tuesday. Ramps are a wild onion/garlic relative that are a spring ephemeral, so they are only available for a limited time. They have a great flavor that I really look forward to each spring. They are great cooked with fried potatoes, mushrooms, eggs or anywhere you'd use onions or garlic. I like to use the raw leaves on sandwiches.

Have you tried our mushroom tea? We've been getting great reviews on the flavor. Several customers have said "I've tried some of the mushroom coffees and didn't like them at all, but this tastes great!" Evan says the cinnamon mushroom tea tastes like snickerdoodles and I'd have to agree.
The tea is a blend of home-grown lion's mane and wild harvested Pennsylvania chaga and reishi, making it healthy and delicious.
You can get it on our website, at any of our markets, at .provisions , at Red Barn Produce at the West Shore Farmer's Market, and from Tarsa Family Farm at Lewisburg Farmer's Market.
Pro tip: this is potent stuff and each tea bag can be used for more than a cup. I typically brew a quart plus a cup , drink my cup and refrigerate a quart for later.
Have you tried it? What did you think?
