The critters definitely kept me humble, but they didn’t beat me. These were the last carrots from the garden, and I’m pretty proud of them.

Long, straight, sweet carrots… in August… in Texas. I’ll take that.

We learned a lot this season, especially about using shade to help crops through the heat. Now it’s time to tackle the real problem: everything that wants to eat the garden before we do. 😂

Things I’m learning lately: nothing is ever exactly the same as it was before.

We’ve grown carrots successfully every year, but this year something else decided they were worth waiting for too. Every day I’d make it out to the garden, and every day a few more carrots would be gone.

They’re not quite ready, but it’s either pull them now or let our mystery snacker finish off the whole row.

So today we harvested tiny carrots and called it a win.

We know it’s been a little quiet around here lately, but farm life has been full!

We recently wrapped up one of our biggest chores of the year: processing our meat chickens. It was three long days of processing, bagging, and getting everything tucked away in the freezer. Thankfully, the weather was much kinder to us than it could have been this time of year.

As wild as it feels to say, we are already sold out.

We are so grateful for every customer who trusts us to feed their family. Each year, we feel the pull to grow a little more, raise a little more, and serve more families in our community.

A big thank you to MikeJoy for coming out and helping us get it all done. We truly could not have done it without the extra hands.

Thank you all for supporting our farm and allowing us to do this work. It truly means so much to us.
