If you ever wonder why the brand may be a little crooked🫣…

Jokes aside freeze-branding cattle provides a permanent, highly visible means of identification. The process uses extreme cold to destroy the pigment-producing cells in the hair follicles, causing the hair to grow back white in the branded area.

A freeze brand is easy to see from a distance, remains with the animal for life, and helps ranchers quickly identify ownership and individual cattle. It also provides an additional safeguard against loss, theft, or animals being accidentally mixed with another herd.
