✨ 𝓛𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓻𝓫𝓸𝔂 𝓛𝓪𝓷𝓮 ✨

With all that run on his papers, I was curious what he would be like to ride. His pedigree is stacked with speed, winners, and big names on both sides.

He is so smooth, quiet, and good-minded. I love how he takes things in and processes what I’m asking. Watching that understanding grow is one of my favorite parts of starting these young horses.

His papers give us plenty to hope for, but his quiet mind makes the everyday work with him something I truly enjoy.

His sire, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐛𝐲𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐞, is by Lanes Leinster and out of Swift Goodbye, a daughter of Dash Ta Fame. His dam, 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐚 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐞, is also by Dash Ta Fame and out of Strollin Legend.

That puts 𝐃𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐓𝐚 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐞 on both sides of his pedigree through his sire’s maternal line and directly through his dam. A thoughtfully bred young prospect with a pedigree that gives us plenty to be excited about! Will he stay, or will he become someone else’s exciting prospect? We haven’t quite decided yet! For now, we’re enjoying watching him grow and dreaming a little about what his future might hold.

I’ve said it before, and I’m going to say it again… there is just something so special about this horse!

SWAG N WAGON, aka Swagger, is hands down one of the best stallions I have ever swung a leg over. His disposition alone makes him a pleasure to ride, but add his athleticism, intelligence, and willingness to work, and he’s something pretty special.

He wants to do the right thing. He tries hard, learns quickly, and is such a good mover. Every ride gives me a little more appreciation for him, and it’s hard to believe he’s only two years old!

I don't train for the public anymore but made an exception on this guy and knowing how much this horse means his owners. What a blessing it is to be the one to lay his foundation. I’m so thankful for the horses God brings across my path and for the opportunity to be a small part of their journey.

I couldn’t be happier for ND Bar Quarter Horses to have this incredible young stallion in their lineup. I absolutely cannot wait to breed one of my mares to him!

If you haven’t checked out Swagger yet, you should. Get your breeding contracts in this guy is next level, and I’m excited to watch his future unfold! 🙌

MBR Performance horsemanship....
Basic Body Control & Horsemanship

Join us for a full day of learning, improving communication, and building a better connection with your horse! This clinic is geared toward horses and riders of all levels.

However, I do want to mention that a solid foundation of forward movement is important before we start adding body control. If your horse isn’t yet moving freely forward and steering confidently at the walk, trot, and lope, you may find yourself spending more time establishing that fluid forward motion before progressing into the body control exercises.

You are still more than welcome to join! I will work with each horse and rider at their individual level.

CLINIC TOPICS INCLUDE:

* Body Control – Moving and controlling the different parts of your horse.
* Collection & Relaxation – Developing softness, balance, and willingness.
* Transitions – Improving responsiveness between and within gaits.
* Softness & Feel – Learning to communicate with lighter cues and better timing.
* Building a Solid Foundation – Creating a willing, responsive, and confident horse.
* Practical Horsemanship – Exercises that benefit horses in any discipline.

This is simply how I approach working with horses, and I hope to share a little of what I’ve learned along the way. Not just how to ask for something, but why, when, and just as importantly, when to release.

You can’t expect a horse to drive from behind if he gets anxious every time you add your leg. Before you can build collection, engagement, or true body control, your horse needs to understand that your leg is a cue, not something to fear.

A horse that braces, rushes, or gets worried when you add your leg isn’t truly driving from behind. He’s reacting to pressure instead of understanding it.

First, teach him to accept the pressure, understand the cue, and find the release. Then you can start building that drive from behind. You can’t build softness through tension, and you can’t build true collection without confident forward motion.

Our hands and legs need to work together, with timing and a release that helps him understand. We have to give that forward energy somewhere to go. I try to come back to this foundation: confidence in the leg, freedom in the feet, and softness without losing forward motion.

Collection takes time. It starts with understanding, balance, and a horse that feels comfortable moving forward.

I’m thankful God gives us opportunities to practice patience and gentleness with the horses He’s entrusted to us. My prayer is to ride with clear cues, thoughtful releases, and a humble heart every day.

“Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” — Colossians 3:12
