I took my cues from nature and heeded the call to rest and recharge this winter, but I think I’m finally out of hibernation. ❄️😴⚡️☀️🤩
The sunshine and warm weather give me the hope of spring and I know it’s time to get to work! 💪
I’ve been laying the groundwork for our U-Pick schedule this summer. Making plans, buying seeds & supplies, talking with partners… and I’m pumped for all of it! 🌻🌸
I thought this time of transition from winter to spring would be a good opportunity to highlight another change.
This 🐄 dairy barn 🐄 was originally built in 1962.
I think the transformation of the barn is a beautiful representation:
of hard work that can be done;
that changes can be made;
that seemingly impossible goals can be achieved;
and that devotion to a vision of something better can bear fruit.
This project was really Clayton’s vision, I just said, “Sure honey, go for it.” 🤦♀️ Not entirely sure what I was thinking, but it all turned out ok, right?
Clayton worked with Joe and Harvey, members of the Amish community outside of Milaca – Joe is known for building and restoring barns.
They reclaimed wood from another run-down building on the property to help fill in some of the holes, but some parts of the barn had to be torn down and rebuilt from scratch. A lot of rubble and overgrowth was removed. 🖤
It’s now got a new roof, new windows and doors, new paint, and a new life. ✨😍🙌
